I know he had a couple of wobbly moments last season, but his speed out of his goal saved us more than a few times, so why's that stopped?? That through ball for their second was his, simple as. Someone's told him to stay put.
We do a high line and the keeper stays on his 6 yard box now gives the opposition more chance to score.
Not sure it was his to claim when you take the move as a whole. That sweeper role is less used when the move starts 35/40 yards out and more when it's a ball from their own half. He 'swept' may times in the first half against Sheffield United and in the game today.
My apologies. I didn't realise your post wasn't actually asking a question and you just wanted nodding dog agreements in reply. I'll think on next time!
Criminal isn't it? Second season of being susceptible to the ball over the top with the high line but we dealt with it far better under Val. Collins' starting position is still good but as soon as our defenders are turned we look all over the place. Although HOW HAVE WE NOT SCORED???? That was an unreal save for the own goal. Was it the defender?
I love that you had a dig at me because I answered your question.Actually properly laughing at that one.
‘Criminal isn't it? Second season of being susceptible to the ball over the top with the high line but we dealt with it far better under Val.’ Because this ‘coach’ is seemingly completely unable to organise or give instructions as to how they need to be organised- they genuinely may as well not bother having him there.
Totally agree, it was a small price to pay last season because teams couldn't exploit it but this season it's making good players look like mugs.
Wells just tried to chip Collins when we lost the ball as his starting position is the edge of the box. Last season we were forcing the balls over the top to come from deep. This season teams are dropping them in from further up the pitch and we just can't handle it. Very poor.
It makes it worse because Bristol were there for the taking in the first half but you just know what's coming.
Don't know what happened to us from 35 minutes onwards but it went from the home fans booing and us being 1-0 up. To 2-1 down at half time and unsurprisingly the knives being out on our side. We've played far, far better. But this really is one of the worst sides I've seen this season. Front three have interplayed much better than last Sunday, we've got it wide quickly and put balls in the box, looked a threat, and Moon has added bite to the midfield. Benson has made us look like a much more balanced side - but I do worry about him in a two with someone small and lightweight like Gomes.
