I don’t think anyone pretends they’re not bothered - I think that there’s a refusal to let something so out of our control spoil our weekends. That’s my take, anyway. Just not taking part in this nonsense any more.
Yes, especially given the inevitability of the current situation. How does it go? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Something needs to change. A new head coach with his own team around him would be a start and probably some experience again come January.
Problem is we now don’t think our owners care I’m actually starting to think they have this bizarre plan to go down sell off all our champ standard players for a profit and try and pull the same trick off again with lower league signings and get more cash but never actually advance the team. I can’t think of any other explanation that makes sense. Maybe they got rid of Dane because he went off script and tried to get us on the field success
Does seem that way and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it wasn't for the fact we lost 3million quid last time we were down there. It's not always that easy to come straight back as we know.
Spent the afternoon digging holes in my cellar floor. Now where's that Fred West mask, trick or treaters are in for a reyt shock tomorrow.
Pains me to say I didn't renew my season ticket this year , my dad and 2 kids didn't either. After a fantastic season to lose the manager, Alex mowatt and soldier, plus we thought covid restrictions would be a pain. Up to now I'm kind of glad we didn't now. The dread of going to oakwell expecting a loss isn't something i find appealing, been there, done that. The constant posts on here slating the manager is relentless, all these people can't be wrong. We need some good times at Oakwell again , something to make us want to go again!
Went out with my wife for a day trip to Stamford. Enjoyed a Saturday for a change. Saw a WhatApp from one of our group that said "same old", and didn't bother to check further.
Love that E4 have finally got around to showing the latest season of Young Sheldon. Not the same without Dr Sturgis though.
I watched the cricket while restringing a couple of guitars this afternoon, didn’t check the footy once.
I'm the opposite to most of you. Most of the time I try NOT to check the score during the game. I just am too nervous of seeing we've gone behind or surrendered a lead. At the moment, if I'm at a loose end, I follow the BBC updates with a morbid fascination wondering if this is the game the crisis is finally addressed. I'm not nervous because I'm fully expecting us to lose. It's the hope that kills you apparently but, at the moment, there is none.
I got my footy fix Friday night, an excellent game at Worsbrough Bridge. Somehow lost 3-2 to Nostell, their goalkeeper having the game of his life and the ref seemingly having a soft spot for them and letting them get away with all sorts! Great end to end fun though. Might do a bit of non league ground-hopping when the weather suits. As for 3pm Saturday me and Alfie were at the barbers! Then went to get my euros for Alicante next week. Said I wouldn’t check the score as it would spoil my afternoon, I did 4 or 5 times, can’t help it! Keep saying I’m not bothered but I think I am. We all are.
I was away thus weekend but didn't check my phone till after the match. No big surprises re. the result was there!?
There's a Classic Horror Halloween this weekend on the Horror Channel. All the classic horror films from the '30's & '40's (Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Mummy, etc.) are being shown. Laura said to me "Have you noticed how often on these films it's flipping archaeologists who cause the problems?"
