Watching Barnsley FC. Hopefully with more away games than so far this season as I’ve only managed Blackpool. My apathy or desire to go is driven by lockdowns not by success. Habits are a hard thing to break and lockdown created those.
I'll be watching barnsley. If a few thousand don't bother then it will be of no detriment to my day out with family. It's a personal choice as to how you spend your leisure time, if it's not for you then I hope you enjoy your new thing.
I've always been in the follow them regardless camp, done my time at the bottom of Div 4, cup defeats by non league teams etc. BUT for the first time my faith is being seriously tested by the uncaring incompetents currently mis-stewarding my club, and I'm fast discovering that there IS a life without Barnsley Football Club. At the moment I'd say I'm 50-50 about renewing next time, and if more like me are starting to feel the same way the owners may find their intransigence costing them a lot more than they bargained for.
After 60 years these owners have pushed me to the limit but its the west stand issue for me not whats happening on the pitch , I am a rough with the smooth man & although I always want us to do well I have always been happy to support however good or bad the team are , I am hoping I have the option to renew my seat on the open seats on the west stand , if that happens then I once again will be handing over my cash if that does not happen my faith will be stretched & I am not sure what I will do.
I honestly don't know. Even when we were bottom of the old 4th Division and getting beat by Marine, it never entered my mind NOT to continue supporting Barnsley and getting a season ticket. Unfortunately, this in no longer my feeling. I still love the club as much as any other supporter. At the moment, rightly or wrongly, I feel that love is unrequited.
Why - it’s what the club will continue to use to continue with this player trading model for them. Sorry it wasn’t at the particular poster was more of a case of the board will continue to take advantage of our most loyal fans to continue with their aspirational model to make money out of our club.
We call ourselves supporters. Supporters support through good times and bad. If we all chalked off next season we wouldn't have a club to watch no more because it would go bankrupt and lots of great staff would also be unemployed. We were here long before the 80% and will be here long after they have gone. The match itself is only part of the matchday anyway. As much as we rant on here about players, when it comes to watching them in person we support them well, as shown last Sunday when I am sure they were shocked they got such a good applause at full time after letting in three goals at home in a local derby.
On the other hand, I might not be here at all! I keep getting quotes for my funeral! Do they all know something I don't?
I’m already thinking about not renewing and going to a few away games. I think the club are in for a shock when early bird is due ! At this rate Schopp doesn’t look to be going anywhere although lose next two he has to, can’t see new owners but if it happens I’ll probably renew.
