True. I’m not unhappy he’s left, but find our (the supporters) performance, equally, if not more, disappointing.
I’m the new expert comma taker, by the way. Heads up.!! :)

And why did you put a comma after 'taker'?
    Got a comma fetish? :)

Certainly the results were terrible, and he paid the price for that.

I don’t agree that his conduct was contemptible. That’s a pretty strong view.

Theyve always been there Helen, but it's social media that gives them the platform and the anonymity to spout their crap with little fear of comeback.

The internet was supposed to make people smarter. What it does is make the deranged louder.

I don't think it was ever supposed to make people smarter was it? I'm a socialist so although I despair of some of the stuff on the internet I will always champion " the masses" having access as widespread possible. Similar arguments existed in the past about allowing kids education/adults the vote.

IT is ‘Information Technology.’ This was supposed to bring about ‘the knowledge economy.’ I think this was a nod to making people smarter or more informed.

The problem is ‘information’ is rarely neutral. It can be put across by someone credible and identifiable who understands their subject. But social media has allowed ‘information’ to be put across by propogandists and liars who aim to create division for their own advantage (Brexit anybody?) or anonymous half-wits, narcissists and psychopaths who deal in fear and hatred.

To take your education example, would you want your kids taught by a man with teaching qualifications, or some bloke picked up off the street who preferred to hide behind a screen in the classroom?

I would definitely like to ask him why he behaved the way he did. Why not?

Maybe I'm really small minded - but I can't share those sentiments. Let's not cannonise someone for sending a nice message (which let's face it will be from his agent anyway).

I have said consistently on here and to the poor bugger next to me since the Luton game that there was no "style" of play or system.

I go to matches for pure leisure and nothing else. I'm not bothered about appreciating its finer nuances on a cerebral level a la Red Rain - I just want to enjoy my few hours of escapism at weekends.

It's been painfully obvious from a very early stage that his "style" won't work and there's been no plan B whatsoever.

We could go down this year - after finishing 6th and that is a direct result of someone refusing to accept the obvious in front of them.

I couldn't care less about his message, I hope I never see or hear from the charlatan again. He's pocketed a fair chunk of cash for being an abject failure and threatened everything in the process.

Of course you're entitled to write pretty much what you want. I'm just saying I don't see how you draw a line from his management skills to the statement of 'utter contempt for the fans'.

I take your point but it has also allowed the spread of information of news that otherwise "the masses" would be unaware of. Really knackered at the moment so can't give specific examle, but I do know there's been human rights abuses for eg. that have been brought to public attention through SM.

He also waved goodbye whilst walking onto the 12:25 TUI flight to Salzburg. Only with his left hand, in his right hand he had a carrier bag containing 200 Regals, 2 supersize Toblerones and a bottle of 7 year Havana Club.

Wish he had showed some class in defeats almost 1k travelled to Bournemouth not even a shot on target and he didn't have the decency to applaud the fans at the end, 3k at Blackpool for that shower and again he just bolted at full time...

Seemed a nice fella but worst manager I've seen at oakwell was out of his depth.
