Brewdog festive IPA on the shelves, don't mind if I do!!! 48 cans squirreled away, soon to be joined by a crate of Bradfield Belgian Blue and Thornbridge's winter chocolate porter.

As an inside tip off. Anyone buying the BrewDog '12 beers of Christmas' box from any of the supermarkets will find a free pint voucher inside to be used in January across a number of participating pubs and bars nationwide.

Also, free pint for this month and £10 off your next online order being offered here just for signing up to Planet BrewDog - bit.ly/3EDiZs3

I think we've ordered the Beer 52 one, so who knows who'll be included this year. Always had a nice mix of brewers from it.

Only just starting on the birthday binge. 57 today! Golf this morning, boozy lunch, then a bit of Bond later. I love (semi) retirement....[IMG]

Lol, for me I'm afraid beer is just something I drink if I'm really thirsty and just have a fancy for one. Most of the time I'd as soon have a glass of water. :D
    Chocolate, however.....

There are some seriously good dessert style beers. Got a batch from Hammerton last week who are pretty decent at their stouts. Had one the other day, a chocolate and vanilla sundae stout, really really good, but either need to share it or have just the one!

Cocoa Wonderland one of the best winter warmers. Lovely stuff, also quite like M&S salted caramel porter.

I know some of u will turn your noses up, but, Aldi are currently doing a chocolate orange beer, packaged looking very like Terry's choc orange, so not sure how long that'll be allowed. Tbh it's far too sweet for me, a very sickly stout. They're also doing a toffee ale, which tastes and smells like liquid caramel, I love it, but again very sweet, can only manage a couple. Also a plum porter, very good.

I used to really like cocoa wonderland, and Wiper & trues milk stout, but there are some really good gutsy sweet chocolate style stouts now. Sadly, we're missing the ability to land at a bar and just try things, but spreading the love with beer orders from multiple breweries. Vocations barrel aged series do some good stuff. Have a Northern Monk strawberry Cornetto impy stout waiting to try. And about half a dozen different hammerton ones.

Got to love the change of beer seasons!

Is it possible to distill the beer, so that I only get the chocolate?

It's just funny tasting beer innit?
For me, it just needs to be cold, refreshing and have a bit of a bite at the back of your throat.
I do acknowledge that I'm a beer philistine though.

If it tastes good, I've no problem where it comes from.

I asked this a while back, and wondered if anyone has tried Nailmakers Plum Porter? I've just finished 2 cases of Acorns Gorlovka that my mum got me last Christmas that I could only collect in July (i think), so was considering giving Nailmaker a go as it wasn't too far away from where my mum lived and always like to support the micro breweries.
