For anyone frustrated by the bridge closure on match days, I found a new way down to the ground from town last week. Next to the new JD sports is a walkway which comes out down the back of the Alhambra, cutting out the need to walk all the way around the Alhambra. No fence hopping or anything required, as there's a new path which leads down to the entrance of the new car park.
The only problem is it's closed after 5 pm, I've tried it Archey. So need to walk all the way around the Alhambra unfortunately
Ahh, didn't realise that. It was the first time I'd been to the new part of town, and that when I noticed it. After the game, I went a different way anyway as I was parked at my brother's house in Worsbrough.
Also, I think I've tried it before the Saturday game against Millwall and it was closed then at half past 2. So it looks like it's closed on matchdays. I'll give it another try this week though and report back
The last match stated no access via The Glassworks which is the bit you’re talking about. Worth a shot, but don’t be surprised if the shutters are down.
Makes you wonder what kind of animals the owners of the Alhambra and the council think us reds fans are not wanting us walking through their shopping centers one would think given the current climate on the high street they'd be glad of the extra footfall in case it led to impromptu sales for the stores. I mean they let us in every other day why not on a Saturday afternoon.
New glass works market car park level 1 walk down the ramp come out on to alambra Road leading to Pontefract Road...Mount and Oakwell ....saves the legs
Have you been in the car park? It’s above the shops so you’re at least 4-storeys up before you park, and there’s no way you can safely walk down the ‘ramp’.
If you clap three times, shout "Alhambra!" and run at the brick wall beside the gate you will pass magically through the bricks.
So are the doors our office the back of the Alhambra shut completely? Or these just guarded to make sure no football scum come through?
