There`s an expectation, quite understandably, now that MS has left but the talk of 6 points having lost 7 in a row is a tad ambitious. It would be great but I think that a draw tonight and then moving on to Saturday having stopped the "rot" would be more realistic. I`d love 6 points but would be happy with 4.
I'd be happy with 4, but we need to string some wins together. I'm honestly struggling to see us reaching 50 points this season, regardless of Schopp going, who wouldn't have reached 30 if he'd stayed.
I try not to do negativity but we're going into an important match with a coach who has never (to my knowledge) managed a club in any capacity in professional football. Furthermore, they were part of the coaching team who were almost universally derided as not being fit for purpose. I'm sure Joseph Laumann is his own man and and the players respond to different voice but I'm struggling to see a positive outcome tonight. Having said that, if he has a midas touch and gets the players playing to the levels we know they're capable off together with a little confidence then we might just stop the rot
I was talking about this last night with some fellow Reds. If he makes 2-3-4 changes tonight when we've got no injuries or suspensions or changes the formation the you've got to question it .......... It'd imho that even as a number 2 he didn't buy into MS philosophy or didn't have any say or input. Also if he gets any 'tune' out of the team tonight either result or performance wise then you've got to question the players. I suppose we''ll see. UTR. ... I'd like to think 4 points is a minimum requirement from tonight and Saturday.
The thing is, Derby and Hull at home are 2 of the more winnable games on the fixture list, regardless of who's in charge. They're two fixtures we need to be looking at getting 6 points from. Whether we will or not, is another question.
My concern is that if we win the next 2, JL gets the job permanently. Obviously, I want to see us win. But I think we need a clean break. We need a coach with proven experience operating in the Championship. Whether we get that, let's see.
Not really. We just need a winning coach. Personally, I don't think JL will be able given the job permanently just off the back of winning the next two, but he'll certainly have earned his right to a few more games if he does bring home six points.
Getting a coach with proven experience in this league is very unlikely. Will be from overseas, lower league or an academy setup.
