Collins Andersen - Helik - Kitching Brittain - Benson - Hondermark - Gomes - Styles Woodrow (or Cole) - Iseka.
Cheers I'd probably let Gomes sit a bit deeper, breaking things up and distributing. Let Will be the muscle for Josh further forward. So essentially 3-1-4-2
I'll be happy when the team sheet is released, and I see the starting eleven and the bench, and my first thought is NOT:
I would disagree, Benson likes to sit deep, it's his natural game to sit deep and ping passes, so that line-up would be extremely defensive orientated. If we play 532 one of the 3 has to play the number 10 role, reckon either Styles, Palmer or Woodrow would be most adept.
He’s been poor this season so far. I’ve no agenda with Cauly at all, I don’t think he should be captain though. I just think we needed to try something different, both Cole and Iseka have shown promise in recent games.
I wouldn't say playing 2 strikers is 'extremely defensive'. I would say playing 3 forwards has been a bit cavalier at times though.
I suppose it depends what support they have and what license other players have to get forward. Would argue if we played 3 centre backs along with Benson and Gomes who naturally sit deep that is a lot of bodies back. But could work if the other 5 players have real license to bomb forward. Would love to see Laumann go for the win tonight rather than sitting back and being conservative. Intrigued as to how he'll approach it.
I'd go with that formation certainly. Options to freshen up with whoever is on the bench as opposed to starting.
