Good subs tonight, plus passion on sidelines, what’s point in getting someone in who players might hate, they know him from big Vals tenure and he was first in at the Stoke fight
Players clearly responding to him, so I’d say yes why not until the end of the season at least, but we could do with bringing in another coach or two to lighten the load.
He’s got to be in with a shout especially if we can get another win on Saturday, plus he does know most of the players from his first season here. As a caretaker he’s done something that Murray never could
Lose on Saturday and he'll be **** so probably best to let things pan out. Chuffed to bits for him and the lads tonight though.
See how it goes... if we manage to beat Hull I'd be tempted to give him till the end of the season. Complete contrast to Schopp though; animated on the touchline, positive subs and starting the game with players in the right positions.
Great win tonight but it could have been so much easier. They need tough love after that last 35 mins not high fives. I'm balder and greyer. Joking aside. I'm chuffed. Special note for Laumann the subs were the right ones at the tight times.
Thought Derby were a decent team and their players could build pressure well, might be better win than we realise
I agree. We were hanging on but I don't think that was all Derby. I think the gravity of the potential three points hit home. There was an instance where Benson did an air kick under no pressure trying a basic clearance and had to be assisted by Helik.
No sorry not for me if he insists on keeping everyone back with no outlet at corner kicks. It cost us their goal and nearly an equaliser at the end. Why any manager would choose to invite pressure on our defence after corners is baffling but at least there were some positives and nice see some luck going our way for a change.
Not for me. Delighted he got a reaction out of the lads tonight and hope he can get them ready to do the same on Saturday too, but we need a whole coaching team, not just to focus on the head coach. I hope Laumann can be part of that long term and provide some continuity between head coaches. Maybe one day in the future he can take the top job but this time round I'd like to see someone with a little bit of prior experience, and ideally a ready-made team to work with. .
To be fair, so did Schopp, It’s one of the most pointless tactics in football, can’t understand why coaches/managers do this
Absolutely. That Derby team ain’t that bad. And probably better than Hull. I just worry about Wilks scoring against us.
That was the one negative for me tonight. Any corner or free kick, we have everyone back. No outlet or hold-up for a ball out. It just comes straight back in.
