Even derby fans on their match day thread saying it was a stonewaller went styles went down…seen softer given
If he'd tried to stay on his feet and had a crack at goal, chances are he'd have been chopped down anyway, but in a much more convincing fashion. Went down far too easily for my liking. That said, I've only seen it once, and in real time, so I could be completely wrong. Unless it's Derby fans who watched it on telly, they've no idea what happened. They were several light years away.
Exactly as I saw it. I think he was looking for it which is what made the ref not give it. If he'd have tried to shoot, he'd have been taken down hard.
It was a penalty or a yellow for diving. Why would he dive when he was thru on goal. Replays show he was pushed.
Right in front of me, looked stone wall tbh....I'll give my Var final decision after I've seen it again.
Thought he went down far too easily and threw himself forward, which meant even if it was a foul he gave the referee the option to not give it. Didn’t object when it wasn’t given (from the Ponty).
I agree with @Old Goat. Although I thought it was Benson at the time. You've nowt to lose going about your business there. Whether that's a lay off or a shot. You're in the box onus is all on the defender and more importantly the referee. By diving or going down easily you're removing the only variable in your favour and putting it to chance. Chance won out tonight.
