Whilst I agree, it would probably kill the town off.

Does it say exactly where it will be situated? I'm struggling to picture it anywhere in the area that I think of as town centre.

Two very busy roundabouts, if that's the case, especially the town end one. The Sheffield Road end already has the underpass, so my guess would be the town end one. I hope they know what they're doing.

I would have thought the Dutch drive round in an anti clockwise direction. Will this be the case with this new circle?

I honestly think it will end up being on Pontefract road at the underpass

If traffic's giving way to pedestrians and cyclists, anywhere in the town centre will be chaos. They're building the new roundabout at Penny Pie Park. Wouldn’t put it past em to do it there.

That's going to be phased in on a month by month basis. In the first month, cycles are going to start going round anti-clockwise, all other traffic will still go clockwise. Then, once all drivers have got used to that, motor cyclists will start going anti-clockwise. Next, buses, then a month later cars, then lorries, and so on. What could possibly go wrong?

Think it's already under construction on the dvpw 10 months and counting for a sodding roundabout

All to create just one additional exit to serve a warehouse. It’s mental. Should’ve been left in, left out slip lanes instead - would’ve meant exiting the warehouse and using Shortwood roundabout to turn back towards the M1. It really didn’t need another roundabout there.

I asked a planning councillor about it a few days ago and he said he didn't know either. I reckon they've applied for funding for A roundabout rather than a specific one and now need to decide where

And even if it did need a roundabout I really don't understand why they've had restrictions on the road for so long when until very recently all the work was taking place in the fields. The actual road work has been a very small part of it

Wherever it goes it will serve one purpose and one only - as yet another sop to Sir Houghton's vanity. There are any number of things this town needs before a fancy death-trap roundabout.
The Town Hall dictator's ego trips are ruining the town.
    Rant over.
