Whoever they are, they won't be a known name. Actually, knowing the owners behaviour over the last year, it's only a 50/50 chance whoever it is will be human.
I'd take Neil as a, come in and make an impact Flynn as a long term project.. Another realistic name after those two I have yet to hear..
The annoying thing is, Warnock won’t be a realistic target, but he should be. He’ll only want a contract to the end of the season, and be able to loan one or two in for the rest of the season. If he could come in and get us out of this mess, we can then scout for a new coach and start again with a more settled pre season next year.
If the owners seriously want us to stay in this division they'll go and get Neil Warnock until the end of the season. It's almost a guarantee that we'll stay up under him. Abort all plans and spreadsheets until the summer.
It's difficult to come up with three names, old mate. Not because there aren't any, but I honestly don't believe what I want for the club matches that of the owners & CEO. I thoroughly enjoyed last season, one of the best in the history of our club. Yet listening and reading some of the comments of Conway & El-Hamed it wasn't, for other than sporting reasons. I don't have any issues with the names mentioned this week. But I believe the powers that be will.
? ? ? Who I want or who I think should become the next manager, Head coach or shapeshifter will have no impact whatsoever on who we finish up with.
Exactly this! Supporters know exactly what we need to have any chance of getting out of this mess and putting up any sort of fight to stay in this league. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the owners will go down this route and will stubbornly carry on dragging the club further into the dark hole it is currently in.
What about Jody Morris was looking at names on the short list of Cardiff and he was mentioned, been at 23s at Chelsea and bit experience as Lampards no 2 . What do we think it would be a gamble but we aren't going to get a proven coach and foreign root maybe more difficult post Brexit.
I don’t see us going for anyone currently in work because that will mean Schopp’s buy out fee, Schopp’s severance, and the new guy’s buy out fee. Feels like too much money out of the club. Saying that though, if we had an extra £750k in the bank it wouldn’t matter as much…… I think the Brexit points system scuppers a lot of highly rated coaches in Europe who might want the opportunity to work in the Championship. Also, if we’ve got any sense, it will be a coaching team that comes in. Or at least a coaching pair. That also might scupper the names in Europe. That leaves Alex Neil, Michael Flynn and Uwe Rosler based on who I know is available. But my knowledge of available managers is pretty limited and those are just the names mentioned/rumoured rather than ones that get me excited. A lot of names are either out of our price range or short term options - some might argue for the latter based on the current situation but the win against Derby makes our position look far healthier. I’d prefer a long term plan personally.
