Cauley Woodrow was throwing his arms aloft at the frustration of being marked clean out of the game by a 2ft high nettle.

I like the cut of your jib, sir. Unfortunately, I can't keep something which I've already lost.

Try and look at the big picture. The club was owned by the Dennis family (in the main) for years. Next by Patrick Cryne for a few years before he passed away who too was a fan. Does anybody seriously think this consortium who own 80% of the club are in it for the long term and who like previous owners have some empathy for the town of Barnsley? I think not. I hope they go soon and don't bleed the club dry before they do. One can but hope.

The problem is, what is their exit plan? They're not going to make any real money whilst owning the club, and they certainly won't sell the club on for a profit once we're back in League 1 with no cash in the bank.

Their way out could be disastrous, and who would want to buy/save a club that's in the state we're in, or likely to be in next season?

The club was never 'owned' by the Dennis family. Ernest and John were Chairmen but had been elected by other shareholders. John Dennis would have been Ernest's successor, not Geoff Buckle had the Dennis family owned BFC.

Wouldn't have thought they're planning on going anywhere if they've just paid the head coach off. By all accounts the only thing keeping Grant McCann in a job is that Hull are waiting for a takeover..
