    ....according to Leon.

Not surprised in the slightest. For me it's the route that minimises our chances of staying up this season so fits exactly into my expectations from these owners.

Is it? We've had a decent success rate with our overseas hires so far

If accurate, it's not really surprising. I'm not against an appointment from overseas, though.

2 out of 5 is not a great strike rate.

I'd be extremely surprised if it was anything but a coach from the continent who has a little bit of experience to satisfy minimum requirements due to brexit, has coached a fair bit at youth or B levels and is a much cheaper option than anyone we could get in the UK. Obviously a £2m (approx) compensation clause will be inserted into their contract.

I'd also be pretty surprised if the comms aren't based around a high energy pressing style, but continues to miss the simple truth that it will be yet another different system/formation with different tactics to every other coach under these owners.

I would have liked Warnock, but to be honest they could bring our new head coach in from Alpha Centauri, provided he can get us back on track.

Under normal circumstances I'd be fine with it but it's just too much if a risk right now, especially when a known firefighter like Colin is available. However, any suggestions that the owners aren't bothered whether we stay up or not make very little sense from where I'm sitting.

Yeah.. we'll be hoping for a Struber-esk escape route thanks to points deductions of other side's..
    Way to go..

We have, the issue I am starting to get with their manager recruitment is that they see the manager as another valued 'asset' like they view all the players coming in. They add buy out clauses into each deal so as soon as they start doing well they are off and we never progress. Look at what happened with Val and Struber, yes we got money for them but then we have to take backward steps to regroup after losing managers. This drop off since Val has been ridiculous. In my opinion, we need to find a manager that knows the league and that will keep us up (Alex Neil etc.) that will stay here for a number of seasons keeping us solid in this league. That will allow us to develop the young talent we have and sell this on if they wish while keeping some stability on the touchline. This current cycle we have of getting a new manager every 6/12 months is not sustainable.

Warnock on Talksport tonight. I’ve just heard the trailer and I quote Warnock:
“If you look at all my successes the one thing I have had in all of them is a good Chairman”

    That rules Barnsley out then!

Part of my disappointment in this is the additional complication that Brexit brings with it in terms of backroom staff appointments, as well as the Head Coach.

Many were suggesting that this was part of the problem with Schopp's appointment, in that they had to abandon plans for him to bring his own people with him.

Given that, I'm surprised that we're going down the same route and increasing the risk that we hit the same issues again, when we no longer have the luxury of time to rescue our season.

Well it came into the club at some point. However where it is now is another question

    It's becoming a mixed bag.
Three good: Stendel, Struber, Big Val
    Two Bad: Morais, Schopp
    Nothing inbetween

I'm not against an overseas appointment but we do need someone with extensive experience of playing English football within the coaching team. In my mind there are two positions to fill: Big Vals and Adam Murray's. One of the mistakes we made with the last appointment was we only filled one of those.
