I've not seen anything to say Poya will be in charge of the game on Saturday, so it will be Jo Laumann's swan song presumably. Jo said that he made so many changes prior to the Hull game due to fatigue. Hopefully after a 2 week break, we'll revert to our strongest possible line up for this one. I think I'm right in thinking we're only missing Halme for the weekend, who is a fringe player anyway. We'll be boosted by Morris being back in contention, who for me is arguably the best player at the club. Fulham have won 4 consecutive league home games, scoring 12 goals and conceding just 2 in the process. In fact only Reading and Middlesbrough have taken points off Fulham at Craven cottage this season, but in both games the stats point to a dominant home display. Overall, Fulham have won 7 of their last 8 league games (a hammering against Coventry being the only blip) scoring 25 goals along the way, more than double what we've managed across the entire season. We've only visited Craven Cottage 4 times this decade. Our results over that period have steadily improved, going from a 5-1 defeat in 2000, to a 3-0 victory last year. Despite it being less than 2 years since that victory, only Woodrow, Jordan Williams are in contention from the winning 11 that day (Clarke Oduor, Jack Walton and Ben Williams were all unused subs). Everything points to a comfortable home victory. I'm hoping that Laumann has learnt his lesson from the Hull game, and reverts back to a stronger side, with players actually playing in their familiar positions. A performance like the one against Derby could see us nick a point. In recent years, we always seem to put in a decent performance against Fulham, albeit the results are definitely mixed. With that in mind, I'm going for an optimistic 1-0 with Woodrow scoring from the penalty spot.
Lots of talk of that famous 0-1 away victory at Anfield back in 97/98 thanks to the MOTD podcast. So I reckon it’s an omen. A completely dominant Fulham performance, with us only having less than 30% of possession, however Fulham can’t hit a barn door for a change, and we nick it with a Michal Helik goal. So 0-1 Barnsley
Can't see anything other than a thorough thrashing. If we can end the game with 11 men on the field and no injuries I'll be happy(ish) with that.
If we're gunna be thrashed I want us to have a go though. Nothing worse than a Bournemouth type performance.
I think we'll have a good go, but our confidence is shot and they have quality all over the park plus the absolute freak that is Mitrovic.
Hope I'm wrong but think we'll be on the end of a thrashing. Fulham (and Mitrovic) are in top form. 0-4
