That's exactly what one or two on here WOULD have us do. They smugly lecture us that there's sleaze on both sides of politics in both the UK and the US as though we don't actually know. However, the level of sleaze and the advancement of appalling and immoral policies coming from the right in both countries far outweighs that of the centre or left. The protection of the individual from financial exploitation, abuse of health and safety, environmental threats, health protection etc is rolled back at every opportunity yet we're told they're all as bad. That voting for one is as bad as the other. It isn't. All they do is encourage others that it's all pointless and in doing so prop up the current, disgusting status quo. They should know that so you have to wonder if their agenda is not the highlighting of the "deep state, media controlled" current scenario but its perpetuation.
I wonder if it was deliberate? Starmer was speaking at the same event, but nobody's talking about him, only about Johnson.
Of course the clown has intelligence the whole thing is an act He has everyone taking about Peppa Pig FFS when we should be all outraged over the social care bill voted through yesterday, the NHS dismantling bill, to name but 2 of the many obscene acts of this current government His days are numbered though doubtless there are a few more unpopular policies that he will bring through then he will be ditched and a more "resonable" leader will be picked who can distance himself (or herself?) from the failings of the previous PM and enough of the stupid or selfish or deluded will vote them in again next time
The worst part is that the distraction probably wasn't even needed. John Lennon said we were "doped with religion and sex and tv". Now it's Facebook, YouTube and Netflix. We're screwed and anyone who cares is in a minority.
Absolutely correct. Get brexit over the line voters swung it 100%. But Corbyn. More votes than any of those above.
It's shocking what is happening to this country, and for me, it all boils down to that stupid Brexit, it gave us a stupid Prim-Minister with an 80 seat majority cart balance to do whatever the ERG far-right nutjobs of the Tory party tell him to do.
Aldus Huxley nailed it in 1958. He saw that the new medium of TV demanded everything, (including politics and politicians) became entertainment, a distraction from serious issues. He predicted that, in the future, some means of mass distraction would be invented. What was true and what was a lie wouldn’t matter as no one would care. Without anyone noticing, the manipulators and ‘thought police’ would form a totalitarian state.
Anyone who thinks Johnson's bumbling idiot act isn't a carefully planned out routine needs to read this "insight" into how he goes about his speeches... https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/my-boris-johnson-story *credit for the link to someone on a different forum I use...
It's not an act. Hes a narcissist. A sociopathic one at that. He wants attention. He needs attention. He needs applause and laughter. It's what he does and has always done. All while saying anything, shirking responsibility, getting as deep into the trough as he possibly can and trying to evade scrutiny at all costs. He's not intelligent at all. There've been a couple of glimpses behind the scenes to show he acts the same way when a camera isn't on him. He's lazy, expectant, loses his temper easily but its always someone elses fault as the rules don't apply to him. The NHS and Social Care bill were going through regardless and there is plenty of negative press about it right across the political spectrum. DePfeffel going into meltdown is a story. But its only part of the story. Lets say yesterday was an act. It's done him no favours in his own party, amid tory donors, amid the business community, political commentators or the electorate.
He did it on purpose to deflect or hide something. It worked because its all anyone is discussing except for the bill last night. Not defending him but he does have a very high IQ.
There was plenty of coverage of the shameful bill including interviewing tory MP's who voted against or abstained. There are plenty of articles across the political spectrum criticising the amendment as well as his lack of strategy or ability to deal with detail. There's a reason he does so many photo ops. He thinks thats all he's good at. He thinks having people laugh at him is the same as laughing with him. It's a successful tactic in 21st century Britannia where personality is valued by too many people over substance and general decency. Lets not look at the court jester and instead see a machiavellian genius.
Now the idiot Trump has been deposed we are the laughing stock of the world for having the most stupid leader, yet people think Starmer and all the other party leaders are as bad if not worse, despite there being no facts to see of the others lying and embarrassing the country like De Ethel has. It was the same with Brexit, people didn't like EU laws but couldn't name one if asked - with the possible exception of the immigration issue, and even that was a bit of a red herring. We could have made restrictions on people entering the country even as part of the EU. I always thought Americans had the most brain dead population, but ours is seemingly no better. Very depressing.
Why is it I can do a 15-20 minute presentation from just a few bullet points, yet our illustrious leader with his fabled oratorical skills can't do it without having the full text in front of him? Its not like he needs facts, figures or anything other than bland waffle.
