In an ideal world, it will be less dangerous than other strains and more transmissible and become the dominant strain.
Viruses don't set out to kill their hosts, their whole purpose is to replicate which is why many viruses over time become less lethal but more transmissible.

They interviewed Chairwoman of South African Medical Association on Breakfast this morning and it was very interesting. Not easy to summarise but giving it a go she said that ‘so far’ seen nothing to worry about and only very mild symptoms but that the first cases were only detected around the 17th of this month. I certainly felt reassured with what she said which no doubt is what she wanted. I took her at face value Certainly worth a watch on catch-up particularly if you’re a dog lover. She has three which kept wandering in and out of the room

One difference is that people have a choice as to whether they go down the pub but not necessarily about going to the shop or using public transport

Food shop yes none essential shops not so much. I take the point but that suggests we will allow the spread if its a personal choice to go somewhere. It's less of a choice for the people who work in those venues.

    Problem - Reaction - Solution

You can't fail to be impressed by the brilliant simplicity of the 'New Variant' model.

The media outlets, scientific advisers and politicians announce the emergence of a deadly new variant and ramp up the fear levels - Problem

The people are filled with dread at the news of this new emerging threat - Reaction

The Governments of the world offer the vaccines with the promise of life returning to normal for the terrified masses - Solution

The pharmaceutical giants provide the vaccines at exorbitant costs which are paid for using tax payers money. Consequently they achieve new additional profits amounting to £millions per day. Better still, the continual emergence of the new variants creates a need for regular boosters which in turn creates on-going income streams.

The £billions in additional profits means that the Solution providers (Pfizer, Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Johnson & Johnson) are able to suitably reward the people who successfully promote the Problem (BBC, Boris, Chris Whitty, Sajid Javed, Neil Ferguson et al) who receive generous compensation for their efforts via political donations or through multi-million pound sponsorship deals/research grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Then you simply rinse and repeat.

It's a brilliant economic model because almost everyone's a winner and when the cycle starts to lose momentum all you have to do is pick the next available letter in the Greek alphabet and announce the emergence of the terrifying new variant. Kerching!

I have absolutely no problem with people debating the effectiveness of masks, the difficulty of mask wearing for some/many, the benefits of lockdowns versus the harmful effects of them, the potential risk of vaccines compared to the potential benefits for certain age groups or even the unknown aspect of the vaccine risks due to it being 'new'. They're all perfectly justifiable concerns and discussions to have.

However posting straight up conspiracy theories about it all being a money making scam is a ridiculous thing to do and frankly the actions of someone who is either mentally unhinged or simply a prize bellend.

Are you saying virus variants are a media fabrication sanctioned by governments worldwide?

You really need to stop watching David Icke.

There is a scandal linked to Covid, go look at the Good Law Projects work. Track and Trace and VIP Lane for PPE will feed your thirst for wrongdoing. They also do other work exposing the government. All fact based cos they actually take the government to court and have a great win ration.

Of course not. I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

It would be a nice little money spinner if they were though, eh?

    So you are then?

I'm sure I read in one of your previous posts a while back that you were in the top 0.1% globally regarding qualifications. I find that incredibly difficult to believe based on the utter drivel you post.

War is a racket . If you create war then you gain should you sell armaments . The same can be said here ( COVID ) should the medical outcomes be left to private enterprise . I'm not saying that's happening as I'm sure your not merely that your aware that it may happen .

Of course he's saying it's happening. He's even changed his avatar to show the argument in graph form!
Are you as intent on causing mischief as he is? I know for a fact you must be aware of the utter rubbish he posted about the US election.
All of us are aware of the corruption in the world, in pharma etc. Most of us are equally aware that sending stock markets crashing, reducing growth and damaging businesses are not what virtually every government in the world actually wants.

I'll actually correct my first point. He either believes it or is a mischief maker who wants other people to believe it.

I wouldn't put it past them! It doesn't make any sense as it is- Poland has less Covid per population head then the UK, but I have to go into isolation until I get a negative PCR test? But yesterday I went into Wakefield where statistically there was more chance of getting Covid and no one is wearing a mask or social distancing and today I can go wherever I want. It's just not logical and thats whats very frustration.

I so much want to disagree with this but i'm afraid i can't' as someone thats had all the vaccines inc flu and booster i'm certainly no antivaxxer but it does seem that everytime Boris needs the public to comply with something we get a new problem on the horizon to help his cause' obviously the need for the 1st vaccine was evident' but then when people held off having the 2nd one Delta arrived on the scene and now they're trying to promote the boosters a new variant arrives just in time to threaten us with cancelling xmas again' i'm really not a conspiracy theorist but it does seem very convenient especially listening to the doctors in South Africa that don't seem to understand what the fuss is about' the pharmaceutical companies are laughing though' money makes the world go round as they say...

If only Boris hadn't confounded that argument himself by, instead of hyping up the threat initially to prepare the ground for the vaccination cash in he fatally delayed lockdown. Then if only he'd gone full in on the threat rather than under playing it till it was too late.
The same argument goes in America where the most corrupt politician imaginable, instead of colluding with pharma to cash in on the vaccine, retended for months that there was no problem with covid at all. Telling everyone it would magically disappear. Being extremely reluctant to push the need for vaccination. Creating an environment within his base that was and is hugely resistant to vaccination.
Hardly the evidence for a deep state plot to cash in is it?
To think the world's richest people have all colluded to shoot the economy in the foot is, quite frankly, ridiculous.
