I wonder if these brain dead morons were claiming not that long ago that all lives matter? Apparently they don’t

It never ceases to amaze me how far some people have fallen. If hell does exist I hope there is a special place reserved for them.

I can confirm that there's been an organised effort by shadowy figures to undermine the whole situation.
They used social media to get folk to do their dirty work. Whipped them up into a frenzy, and basically intimidate anyone involved in the rescue and search efforts.
They managed to get a bloke on TV who used to be a low level Border Force official, and make out he's an expert and of higher rank/standing. I'll not name him, you can find him easy enough.
The whole situation seems to have been engineered to fail. To fan the flames rather than cool them. The front of some publication with their faux concern was sickening. The same publications who are on a daily basis trying to coax / pressure opinion, Intel and spy on border officials, so to print them or hand them over to dodgy social media to create further propaganda.

strange that they decided to promote this issue just as scandals about corruption started to impact them in the polls. What a curious act of synchronicity

Not aimed at you as I know you’re clearly not this sort of person.

It doesn’t matter how pro Brexit or anti immigration someone is there is absolutely no excuse to stop someone doing their duty to rescue people who are in danger.
They serve no purpose except to embarrass everyone.

They make it more dangerous for those of us trying to save lives. Last thing you want in the back of your mind is, what external rubbish is awaiting me today, or what reception am I going to get when I reach dry land with a group of desperate human beings I've helped rescue.
Crackers and evil on so many levels.

    Exactly,
Can’t imagine driving in after receiving a ‘shout’ and having to think about what reception is waiting at the station, the general thoughts of what they are going experience on the ‘shout’ must be bad enough.

Sit in the road to stop people going to work in order to ‘save the planet’ and the long arm of the law will turn up with force to arrest and charge you.

Stop someone going out to save lives though? Where’s the violence from the Police?

It’s almost as if the Home Secretary herself has decided that some battles don’t need fighting

Never thought I'd read a story like this about this country...we prided ourselves on sticking up for the little guy and helping those in need...

The low life and vermin have always been there. But now social media gives them a voice while Johnson, Farage and Patel give them a leadership that endorses their poisonous views. 1930s Germany anybody?

This is a breach of the Emergency Services Act 2006, with a maximum tariff of a scale 5 fine - unlimited. Hopefully, those identified as taking part (and I've seen suggestions of at least one fisherman potentially identified) will be investigated, charged and if found guilty punished as appropriate.

If that article is true then i hope the people responsible one day require the RNLI themselves, and are told to swim faster.

Article does seem to be based mainly on a woman phoning a radio station though and very little else. Its possible i could have missed something though, my eyes are bleeding from all the ads

Cheers pal. I saw that they had confirmed that an incident had taken place but not what the incident was.

A fine seems a bit lame. If someone wilfully prevents another person from saving someone in distress at sea, in the kind of circumstances described in the news article, and someone drowns as a result, isn't that a form of murder?

This country is broken ... that remote Island is looking more inviting as each day passes
