Morning folks. I'm off to Keepmoat this evening to watch England Ladies, and just wondering if anyone has any golden nuggets regarding parking? Would like free or cheap with an easy getaway if poss, happy to walk 15 mins from ground to achieve this.

    Ta in advance.

Is this just reconnaissance ahead of our ground share with Donny?

    You got me!

(Though to be clear, I wouldn't watch us anywhere but Oakwell).

Lakeside shopping centre and pub at side . Not sure if there’s time limits on parking now though

If they see you leaving the car and not shopping they'll issue you a ticket. They're pretty keen at the moment.

Lakeside Village doesn’t have cameras up and isn’t likely to be patrolled at night, park near the kfc and costa end which stays open, it’ll be free and maybe five minute walk. Officially you shouldn’t obviously and they do say they patrol and issue tickets. Never seen anyone - but still.

Other than that there’s allsorts of bits and pieces of strips of grass etc round near the sorting office that get used. Some businesses use their car parks and charge a few quid for donny games, not sure about tonight.

Getting away from that area is pretty decent regardless by the way. Decent roads.

    Other than Lakeside
Loads of bits of road near ground - gets full early
But you can park near cinema complex and walk across the field to the stadium. It’s ages to drive, but 10 min walk.

Easy to see the route if you Google map it, loads of people park there.

We always used to park by the side of the lake. Go past the shopping/pub and turn right at the roundabout. Don't park on the left but go up to the next roundabout and come back on yourself. That way you get a quick getaway after the match. There's parking both sides of the road but obviously you need to be there early to get a good spot. We used to get there an hour or two before kick off and go for a bite to eat in the pub

Just near lakeside, there’s some offices. It’s where my work is based. Parked there a couple of times when watching us at Donny. Not the best for getting out quickly though after the game because people that have parked at lakeside are all scrambling to get out.

Plenty of cheap parking a 5 minute walk from the ground next to the floodlit athletics track.

Not even a derby at the Keepmoat to look forward to next season. They're performing as badly as us and will likely be in L2.

With or without caravan? You have to make a declaration in Donny when booking parking Caravan or no Caravan :D:D:D:D:D

Be interesting to know if the OP enjoyed this game or found it a complete nonsense.

I'm siding towards the latter ...

On the pitch it was nonsense. The Latvian team had players who genuinely couldn't kick a ball 30 yards (most notably the goalie), it was so mismatched it was untrue.

But you know what, it was great to be in a crowd made up mainly of extremely excited kids, thoroughly enjoying every minute. Both teams got great support and encouragement throughout. It's been a good few years since I've been able to say that about a match I've been to.

I wish the men's team played in more accessible locations so more kids could experience this with them too.

I’ve seen the Mens U20’s /U21’s at both Oakwell and Keepmoat, neither in front of massive crowds.

It’s more difficult for the 1st team, as even for a friendly you’re looking at huge demand for tickets, but in recent years they’ve been as close as Bellend Rd.

There were 15,207 for the U-21 game at Oakwell against Belarus in 2015. I remember the catering being caught unaware of so many kids being present. They'd sold out of pop and crisps before the match even kicked off.
