‘Escaped’. But no, you’re right, definitely there of their own free will.

So when you have to make a judgment about something, do you base it on the facts available at the time or do you possess some kind of superpower that allows you to see into the future?

At the time, there was no evidence available to prove what Casual Tyke was saying despite you misreading the article you asked me to read again and not having the decency to admit you had read it wrong, god forbid someone dare make a mistake how embarrassing. The local community and govt were denying it.

Now, it does look bad from reading that and I'm not sure what to think. Someone leaving a hotel quarantine here would be classed as 'escaping' I would imagine, does that mean they were forcibly detained in the first place though? Not necessarily.

If we had an ebola outbreak in the UK and someone left quarantine early and was going out round town etc whilst infected, would that be ok with you? Or should we just do away with the concept of quarantine? I mean, people clearly follow the rules, don't they...

I'm not getting into this again. Thanks for the I told you so, congratulations enjoy your day.

Thank you, but this feels like another example of folk on here transitioning from ‘that’s rubbish, it’s so obviously extreme and wrong that it just can’t be true’ to an attempted justification of said extreme and obviously morally wrong action.

I’ve come to realise that no matter how many times we’re proved right, that these morally abhorrent things ARE happening all round the world (see the monthly fines in Greece of older folk who’ve not been vaccinated) that there are a number of people who will just double down and move on to trying to justifying what’s happening because they somehow see this as a polarised argument between traditional liberal left and Brexit/right.

Whoever decided that lockdowns, compulsory vaccinations and mask wearing are ‘left’ and opposing these measures are ‘right’ have a huge amount to answer for. People have stopped trying to view these arguments with any sort of ethical compass any more and it’s just become a partisan argument.

The more we’ve been proved right with all the predictions of the catastrophic issues for human rights which the acceptance of lockdown and more specifically the associated totalitarian legal acts giving Governments unprecedented powers would cause, the more it seems others get further entrenched into justifying this totalitarianism extremism anyway.

Genuinely nothing personal against you TM. Enjoyed the later posts in this stream when I caught up.

It is totally pointless debating it and I don't get why you or others continue with it. I put questions to you in my last post and you've ignored them because they don't suit your argument. So basically one side is barking at the other and vice versa. It's childish and there's zero point in continuing.

I will look at stuff and weigh it up, just as I did last week. If something new comes up which disproves that, fair enough. That's how it should be. Not jumping to conclusions. I've challenged misinformation on here but I can't be arsed with it because it is pointless.

Continue the cyclical arguments on this by all means but keep me out of it.

How would you describe anyone that ‘left’ quarantine?

There’s absolutely nothing in that article that backs up the original incorrect allegations.

But I’ll repeat what I wrote previously. If anyone is surprised that any Aborigine gets mistreated by the Aussie government they must have been living under a rock. And to try to pretend any such mistreatment is more aligned to a COVID conspiracy than to their inherent racism is laughable.

Unrelated, but did you know that using the term "Aborigine" is generally considered insensitive and is frowned upon (the closest I can think of is using the term "coloured" nowadays). It's much more well thought of to say "Aboriginal" or "Aboriginal person".

Not being a dick, just trying to help.

You're comfortably one of the more reasonable posters on here mate so I can understand why you'd think this. But surely you can see how those on the wrong side of the opinion have been lambasted for close to two years now on predictictions of why what was happening was wrong, what it would lead to, how submissive we were getting as a population. Now those predictions might not have become complete reality, and were arguably a bit extreme, but considering how much those predictions were rubbished and the posters slated, we're a damn sight closer to that reality than anyone appears to want to admit.

It's a real sad state of affairs being honest. It's divided people, ruined relationships, friendships, families, and even now when something obscene happens here or elsewhere, we're making apologies for it. I can only vouch for how I see things, but it does look like we get more annoyed with people on here having a strong opinion than the people making some of the decisions. One look at Greece's 100 Euros a month plan should unite everyone - it's truly awful. As are vaccine passports in Wales and Scotland.

    Truly awful?

I have calculated this liberal Greek slap on the opisthio to amount to only .68% of a Viz peppercorn.

And the award for the ultimate social distancing tactic goes to Barnsley FC and the west stand initiative. :D

There’s no way I could read all of that but surely that’s the exact type of article that everyone rushes to discredit if it was pitched the same way but about an adverse reaction to the vaccine?

It’s like they’ve used it as an opportunity to preach their own stance on vaccines. That link to Tony Robbins is tenuous at best, and even when they go on to talk about the study on genetics they say it’s impossible to say - or words to that affect.

Also looks like the effects of lockdown had seriously ruined this man’s life too.

    13 pages... jeez.

    Well, my twopenneth.

    Covid can be bad.
    Vaccines are very safe.
    Vaccines can be very useful.
    Masks are inconvenient but useful.
    Quarantine can be essential.
Restrictions on travel can be necessary.
Lockdowns are dogsh it but can be necessary.
    Not everything is a conspiracy.

So, if you're medically able, get vaccinated and wear a mask. Only travel if you have to and if you're required to quarantine as a result then just do it because no one wants another full blown lockdown. Can't believe there is still a discussion going on about any of this to be honest. But vaccines, but mandatory, but quarantine, but flu, but Wayne from Jump says, but Jean on Facebook says, but this obscure document says, oooh look at Germany... yawn.

Don't forget, the royal family are actually lizard people wearing human skin suits and what exactly are they putting in the water??

I think that covers everything. Night night all.

I read it as a way of explaining how the correlation between being old/infirm-suffering and young/fit-mild illness to Covid29 can break down due to genetics. As far as reaction to lockdown, I don't know if he was one of those who were left behind in the working from home or furlough schemes, and consequently suffered financially, it certainly seemed to have disrupted his social life and sporting activities, like many of us.

I'm sure fining people for not being vaccinated is perfectly acceptable to some on here.
    Personally I find it disgusting

Just goes to show how liberal the EU are with regard to how their members can devise their own rules. Good old EU!

Until they bring in mandatory jabbing of course.
