I won't be at Oakwell on saturday, much as I'd like to be, I'm currently in Madeira and won't be home till monday. Up the Reds.
Didn't see that one, saw one down on the prom at Funchal yesterday, very poor facial likeness as most bronze statues seem to be. There's also a museum there called "CR7", we were tempted but didn't go in.... Going on the cable cars up the mountains today.
Lvd it up top and the views are great..sadly think the views from the East Upper won't compare bt hey ho.. Enjoy ya trip...
Cable ride is brilliant. I gave the CR7 museum a miss too, not my favourite bloke if I'm honest! Really enjoyed Madeira and would like to go back. What's the weather like at this time of year?
Me neither as I'm not back from my Spanish retreat until Boxing Day, so I'll miss WBA and Stoke as well. Waste of time buying a season ticket this season, irrespective of how bad the football has been. I love Madeira as well. Been there twice some years ago. It's great weather all year round with its own micro climate and although it's not a big island there's lots to see. Not for anyone who wants a beach holiday though is it. My main regret is that I did the cable car ride up to Monte but didn't have the courage to go back down in the crazy basket ride. I also regret taking a dangerous levada walk in that same area. At one point we were walking on a supporting wall about a foot wide with a dizzying drop down one side. It was terrifying but at least there is the water channel to step into if you get too panicky. On reflection we should have done that instead of risking it.
Love Madeira been about 15 times, last time was just before 1st lockdown 2020. Where are you staying?
Never seen a statue at the airport. Seen the one in front of his CR7 hotel on the marina though. If it's life size he's a big fecker.
I've looked at the riu resorts in Cape Verde a few times but always changed my mind at the last minute, usually ending up in Madeira. Usually because of not being too sure about Cape Verde. My neighbour's been to riu Karemboa and riu tuareg and they loved them.
