Beilik hasnt kicked a ball in about 12 months due to injury.

Lawrence is out of contract at the end of the season and on a reported £37k a week.

Am I right in thinking if theyve been issued with 28 days that they can't sell any players anyway ?!?

Because of the Jan transfer window I mean.

If they got relegated to the Conference Division North Level 5 they'd still finish above us !!
We are crap and they know that.

If I remember right, transfer windows don't actually stop teams doing business, they just stop the ability of clubs transferring the players registration between each other.

I don't know if there are any specific rules that stop this, but in theory, they could agree on the sale, get the money upfront(no doubt much less than market value) and put the player on gardening leave until he can be registered at the new club.

As a UK taxpayer, that money should be fully recouped - by a payment plan if required.

If they cannot agree to a payment plan, then they should be liquidated. They are not fit to trade, and are a risk to other small businesses who supply them.

If they get shut of a few players, or cut the youth teams down, I cannot see why a payment plan can’t be agreed……

Portsmouth were able to do this - sell players outside the transfer window - when they went into administration. This was in the Premier League, though.

I was within a whisker of going to jail back in the 90s for £11k owed to the taxman and these ******** just seem to **** a snook to the laws and responsibilities of the land, I hope they go under, the nefarious charlatans.

In theory, there is nothing stopping HMRC from presenting the 28-day notice. It's a call by the Administrator as to whether he/she thinks the club can be saved. Ongoing HMRC liabilities may cause that position to be considered. If HMRC don't want to be part of any ensuing CVA they have voting rights (which will increase with each round of debt owed to them) and can press to Liquidation as they did with Rangers Fc. They can be motivated by ongoing harm, eg non-payment of PAYE and NI. However, you will probably find the owner is the biggest Creditor by a long way and will keep voting them down. What is required really is that the football authorities cry foul and stop someone who had anything to do with a club arriving at such a sorry state from having anything to do with running a club again. I know some Derby fans and they are just as passionate as we are about their club. It's a really good case as to why there should be some reform. On one hand, a football club is a business but on the other hand it is a community asset and maybe it should be treated as such. My idea would be to scrap the football debt rule, let the company operating the club go to the wall. The feckless owners who rack up stupid debts then lose everything. Then let the club back in with a one-league demotion if it is run by a supporters trust or similar with three years of oversight by FA-appointed accountants to ensure it is placed back on a stable footing.

You’d think if a deal is in place just awaiting the window to open a letter of commitment from the buying club would be sufficient for a delay until Jan.

whilet I sympathize hugely with all the local small businesses who will lose out scrapping the football creditors forums without any reform will cause many many clubs great harm.

Maybe mend transfer fees payable in one lump. Can’t pay don’t buy!

Although they deserve the harshest of punishments....we all know there will stall tactic after stall tactic...people coming in saying they will buy...then at the last minute pulling out....rinse repeat.
Derby will not go under. They have cheated to the detriment of other clubs and should imho be non league....but it just wont happen.

I was a bit late paying some CGT. When I did pay I was immediately fined £100.

If they paid the players less they would be able to pay some of the £20m. Presumably it is PAYE NI and VAT. If you trade insolvently you become insolvent. If the administrator can't get anyone to buy the club and pay the dept then a liquidator needs to be appointed.

As is oft discussed on here, we have problems at Little Old Barnsley, but I am happy that I don't have to worry about having a club tomorrow.

We may be in League One next year, but I will still be following faithfully on iFollow.

The last League One campaign was fun. We won matches and scored goals, which is a novel idea.

Couple of press reports saying the HMRC debt is increasing to the point the club is no longer a viable proposition to buy and liquidation is looking more and more likely
