Local news doing the round suggests that Ismael is under pressure at West Brom, partly because of recent average results and partly because of an alleged incident reported with Robert Snodgrass. I always thought that there were only three ways in which Ismael could fail at the Baggies. One would be if he fell out with a high profile and popular player, who might be a bit of a prima-donna and not pulling his weight; two would be if the fans didn't like the style of play; three would be if West Brom were to fall out of the automatic places. There were alleged issues with Pereira, Zohore and now Snodgrass; some of the fans don't like the style of football and call it 'Pulisball;' West Brom are out of the automatic promotion places. Some reports even suggest that he could be gone by Christmas. All this is just from local press releases, so is in the public domain, at least as alleged situations. Would you have him back? Would the board have the brass neck to do it? If he does go, I would imagine that a club like Bristol City would be quickly on to him. I don't think that we could change two horses mid-stream and morally it wouldn't be right until Poya has established himself.

Our board don't want his style of football though do they as it didn't place the players in the shop window, our CEO had said as much.

I would have held fire on the appointment given how restless the baggies are, and have had him back in a heartbeat.

Would love him and his leadership back but that shop has sailed snd would be unfair on our new manager.

In pure footballing terms, it was a crazy move for him to take. He plays a style that is ideal for a team that needs to overachieve. It's impossible for a WBA team to overachieve in the Championship, they're expected to go up automatically.

Moore was sacked with them in the same league position as they are now I think

Did you mean "...that ship has sailed ..." or "... that Schopp has sailed ..." :)

Imagine the irony if we beat them and he’s sacked after that

I don’t think it would happen, even if Ismael got sacked and we still had a vacancy. It will take a couple more failures before he’s back in our price bracket. It’s also questionable how well he’d do with the current squad we have available.

Mate of mine whose a West Brom fan was moaning two weeks ago about how the majority of fans at The Hawthorns hate the style of football he's got them playing.
    Maybe he's one dimensional?

I think some of the CEO's comments from his first meeting have been over analized.I would bet the board would have preferred Val to stay at least another season to see if we could have improved our position of fifth.

Big pay day for Val, however it pans out. At the end of the day he delivered an unbelievable season for us. I'm only concerned about us now & we are in a dark place on & off the field. Right behind the new manager & players, Schopp was a bad choice, no doubt about that & VI made the team over achieve. It seems unlikely we will stay up, but if the board give him the resources we might.

Should’ve offered him a new contract then. Or at least spoken to him about staying. Whereas none of the interviews with Murphy at the time suggested either of those happened. Probably because he was on his way out himself.

I've got a bit of hope left. In 19/20 season Struber had a bad run after Christmas losing 6 out of our next eight and still managed to get us out of it. We just need that run of three or four wins on the spin to get us in with a shout.

To be fair his style wasn't the greatest but you can never knock winning and he was our most successful manager since Bassett.
I'd rather watch **** football that wins games as opposed to the **** football I've seen so far this season which has bored me to tears and seen us win 2 games all season.

I think you may mean ‘analysed’?
‘Analized’ means something completely different, I believe..?
Akin to that which the BFC board is currently doing to its supporters..

I'd just appreciate a team, regardless of skill, just giving their all. Current situation doesn't fit that criteria! It feels like there's a lack of interest from the players(?)

I liked Val & still hope he does ok but wouldn’t be bothered if West Brom flopped either. He was excellent for us but left very quickly - too quickly in my opinion so no, don’t want him back
