Yet more legal submissions and now no verdict till Monday at the earliest. Was supposed to be over and done with yesterday!

Bar Tyke: What will the legal submissions be given that the two sides have closed their cases? Do you think they might be asking for Loko to close this thread down too? :)

What do they mean by legal submissions?

I think it's when one side want to raise something with the judge that the jury don't get to hear. So maybe clarification as to mobile phone footage being used in evidence for eg.

Case is closed though, Helen. May be about what the jury should or shouldn't do over the weekend, perhaps.

I'm not sure mate. Sounds like it was open court so not sure why not reported.

As you rightly observe, cases are closed and the judge is well through his summing up. Maybe something has arisen during the course of it which has prompted further submissions.

It doesn't strike me as a written route to verdict case, but if there is one it would have been agreed between the parties ahead of being distributed to the jury. Possibly a jury note but that would be unusual at this stage - they usually come after retirement.

Also possible that it is simply counsel looking ahead to next week and discussing practical matters in the event of conviction. SCQC is a busy man. Maybe looking at sentence dates, requirement for PSR etc.

Cases involving celebs always take at least twice as long. Your average s47 would be 2 days + tops.

I expect justice to be done from what I have heard.

Could it be a case of defence trying to negotiate a deal?

I’d be very surprised if Daniel isn’t back home already. No real reason for him to stay here until the trial ends
