Can anyone tell me why when the cost of oil has dropped 10 dollars a barrel over the last month why we are not seeing this reflected at the pump ?

To be fair it's the same situation in Ireland.
    It's disgraceful.

Fuel prices go something like this in my opinion.

When fuel price is high but barrel prices have dropped we are using up the backlog of the old high price. When fuel prices are low but barrel prices go up a backlog of old price doesn't exist and fuel prices go straight up.

Always the same When the price of a barrel goes up the prices at the pumps goes up. When the price of a barrel goes down the price we pay at the pumps stays up

I'm glad I work from home now and don't commute. I've gone from putting £40 a week in to £30 a month.

The smaller garages don’t buy petrol as frequently so I guess it takes longer for the reduced oil price to take effect. The supermarkets buy a lot more frequently though so prices should’ve dropped by now.
That said when oil prices rise the pump prices follow straight away. It is a rip off basically….

Thankfully this has nothing to do with Brexit but I suspect the petroleum companies & the small retailers are having a birthday

The small independents make very little margin on the fuel. They make more on the chocolate they sell you in the shop. They charge what they can get away with to keep their head above water.

A lot of the local independants will start to struggle to survive as the percentage of people who drive EV goes up. As a business proposition, it is on a par with newsagents. I haven't set foot in one for 16 months now, thankfully. I just drive past watching the price go up on the board.

To be fair, my local garage has dropped petrol by 2p this week, but diesel stayed the same.

My electricity will go in the same upward direction eventually but fortunately, I am locked in to an overnight rate of 5p for another 10 months yet.

My ev can’t come soon enough. Overnight tariff works out about 2p a mile, compared to around 18p/mile fuel

That’s what a monopoly generally does…. Crush the opposition then drive up prices

You'll never look back. Done 12k miles in mine now. Hasn't cost me £250 yet. I half fill the battery every time I plug it in for £1.45

Awesome. Lease is gonna cost a bit less than what I’m currently paying too. No brainer. What charger you got? Looking at pod point but tbh they all look a bit $hit

I have got an Ohme. It's ok. I got it because I was interested at the time in Octopus Agile and it links to their API to get tomorrow's rates so it can work out the cheapest times to charge. But in the end I stuck to Octopus Go - Agile prices have since gone to sh.it anyway.

There's loads of them now, look for the best app functionality and support. I'd recommend you get tethered though, might look neater on the wall when its untethered but you'll soon get bored of unpacking your type 2 cable when it's cold and wet, and packing it away again after.
