Bone fécking idle today. Absolutely terrible lack of effort from a substitute playing against tired legs.
Agreed. I’m not sure on the number of touches he had but it can’t have been very many. Coupled with the fact that he also wasn’t really closing down.
I often think that about most substitutions. After sitting on the bench for most of the match you would put every effort in to show the manager that they are worth picking. Once watched a game where Winnal was a sub. All match he was exercising and warming up as if he was hoping to get on the pitch instantly. He never sat on the bench. When he got on late in the second half he was impressing all action and caused the opposition lots of problems. He definitely wanted to get on and made the most of it when he did. However, many come on and hardly break swe9.
I thought the game was crying out for Cole someone with abit of pace to run at the defence. Iseka disappointed me today plenty of time I was thinking take a player on and have a shot but instead a sideways pass to someone else.
Yeah in retrospect Cole could not have done any worse than Iseka had he been on from the start. But we have a nest of unreliable blunt forwards. Morris causes a bit of confusion but everything else good that happens up front only happens in random fashion and is rarely repeated.
I agree, Morris was good today won headers held the ball up, ran at defenders, scored, should of had another though with the header in 1st half. Frustrating when styles and I think it was Morris both put balls across the 6 yard box that were screaming to be tapped in, we play 3 strikers and none of them gambled on it.
Terrible, we played as long as he was on with 10 men. I'd have taken him back off again instead of subbing Styles.
Normally the one thing you can’t fault Victor for is his effort but for whatever reason he never got into the game. I couldn’t understand the substitution though it cried out for Cole so baffled that victor came on
I wanted Cole but suspected we would get Victor. Not sure why our manager would go for him over Cole but wasn’t surprised…does he want us to stay up?!
I would have put Cole on. How did Gomes stay on in the second half. Would have replaced him with Hondermarck.
To be fair to Vic I think one of the reasons he struggled to get into the game was that Huddersfield wouldn’t let us have the ball in their half for most of the last 20 mins.
Seems he's got a lot of stick but we barely had a kick after he came on. We looked knackered, ended up really deep and resorted to hoofing it every time we got the ball. Our shocking pre season is really coming back to haunt us as we're forever running out of steam
