I thought Cauley looked a bit better. I thought the tactics were still awful and the thing that really annoyed me was us trying to waste time when they wanted to get the ball forward - like we should be happy with a draw. Unlike alot of people I have never thought they didn't care.
I thought the tactics were ok tbh , it was our wasteful possession and stray passes that jet us down . I don’t think they didn’t care I just thought they looked as though they cared more than in previous games especially after the Coventry game where they gave everything , bodies in the line etc which hasn’t happened since .
Tactics were good first half but we failed to adapt when they weren’t working in the second. As the game got stretched Cole and Hondermarck who both have the ability to stretch defences were the obvious subs to change the tactical plan. Instead we clamped up and couldn’t adapt.
They showed that in the Derby game, then it all went to pot the next match We need to keep it up, get that fighting spirit up and running.
Think we’ve improved as far as we look more structured and harder to beat but it’s pretty boring to watch and i just can’t see where the run of wins needed is going to come from.Bringing Cole on second half would have given us more chance of getting behind there back line but for some reason it didn’t happen.
That's the thing - it's guaranteed. The opposite is guaranteed every time I go to a Barnsley game currently. That's why I'm ready to pack it in. (well, one of the reasons).
Always look on the bright side of life............ Come on pal I thought we just might win the game which I haven't for months. O wards and upwards Bring on PNE
I don't see much improvement either tbh. The last few games under Schopp were very similar, especially Bristol City away when we were unlucky to lose. This style of football with slow deliberate passing and build up play will never work for us in the Championship imo.
For as long as we defend corners with everyone back, and not one player further up to be an outlet, I will consider the tactics in line with Junior football. It’s just unforgivable. Huddersfield were almost as crap as us be we continually handed them the initiative by saying - yes have the ball again.
I’m of the same opinion regards corners but then again people complained about that when Val left a player up and said we were just pumping the ball . As far as handing the ball over we’ve done that all season tbh , our possession has been pathetic for a while so not just since Poya. Imo the intensity of our play has changed and although we’re still crap with the ball our attitude regards not letting the opposition intentionally run past us with ease has changed even though we’re still not good at stopping them the intention was there .
Of course it could be Huddersfield sat back and tried to soak up any pressure I looked across the pitch and at times they had everybody in their own half. I do feel we are moving forwards and just hope the progress we are making is not too little too late.
Was it ? 93 minutes and the Huddersfield goalie didn't touch the ball once from any of our players it doesn't even seem possible for that to happen. but it did.
I thought it was a marginal improvement on the previous matches, but given we've been utterly dreadful that really isn't saying a great deal. Can't agree with it being much improved.
