That reminds me, our school library has a copy of 'All I Ever Wrote' by Ronnie Barker. I decided to take it home to read and I think it's the best book I've ever read (and that's going some as I read all the time). Absolutely recommend it to everyone who's ever seen and enjoyed any of his work.

I thought they let off more than one when they scored but the only one that really let any smoke off was the one that landed on the pitch must have got the others from joke shop.

Thanks, I’ve just downloaded the free sample. Looking at the book contents I can see it’s a substantial read. That’s fine though. Last year, because I enjoyed Anne With an E on Netflix I decided to get the whole story on kindle and it was very cheap. Took months to read it but I got there. It’s a brilliant story of her whole life.

Meant to ask you if you'd got through them all! I found Rilla of Ingleside really interesting, all the patriotism and propaganda of the time despite the generals having no clue and hundreds of thousands of young men slaughtered.

Yes that was certainly the most moving of the books and just emphasised how much Canada was affected by a war raging so far away. Plenty of lump in the throat bits, especially in that part of the story.

Thinking back though it’s hard to remember details of what happened when and to who, simply because there’s so much of it. Ten books make up “Anne: The Green Gables Collection “ and it runs to over two thousand pages! Maybe I’ll read it again one day. It was superb though, although I had to skim through some of the over-flowery language that Mrs Montgomery was so fond of using.

PS. I just checked my orders and it was 99p for the ten book collection. Bargain!
