Well I'm anti-Tory and was pro-Corbyn so Im biased. However I still think you're spot on. We can see what Johnson has actually done while PM that is corrupt and dishonest. Loads of stuff. Anyone who defends that by simply saying 'but Corbyn' is deflecting on purpose and simply talking irrelevancies. Johnsons premiership is disgraceful regardless of mere party politics. Period. The man cannot be defended on moral/honesty grounds by anyone who has an understanding of basic decency.
PMQs is going to be fun....Especially after they cancelled all the morning media appearances Javid was suppose to do such as BBC Breakfast and GMB. Gaslighting the nation.
Surely its very simple isn't it? Johnson and his government have clearly shown themselves to be morally and intellectually bankrupt individuals seeking to enrich themselves, who see themselves as being above the law. They hold the public in utter contempt and as the op said they are now laughing in our faces. If you’re fine with that then ok As far as I’m concerned, they have to be removed. To do that I would happily vote for a piece of decking timber at the next election.
Jesus Christ people are still playing the anti-semitism card. Have you been asleep for the last 18 months? How many more newspaper apologies will we get for people to realise it was a scam? How much more dropped legal action will we get before people realise it was a scam? How many more internal emails been leaked will it take until people realise it was a scam? How many more pay outs from Trevor Chinn & other donors will it take for people to realise it was a scam? How many more Labour MP’s resigning ‘in disgust’ & walking straight into gigs as Lords or on huge salaries in the gambling or music industry does it take for you to realise it was a scam? The same journalists who were all over anti-semitism have nothing to say now the Labour Party & in particular it’s staff have far more issues with Islamophobia.
This might work; no confidence motion how many will abstain? To support the PM at this time is a giant sized stick to beat individual Tories with for the next few years. He won't lose the vote but it does provide political capital to Starmer. Strike while the country is watching and are fuming. Also the potential for attacking any new leadership candidate to be stained by it.
Are they? 11:30am, I work in an office with about 20 people and not one of them have mentioned it so far. They're all bleating on at the minute about possible new restrictions though...
I can almost guarantee that daft lad will deflect, not answer a single question, try to turn it into opposition leaders questions and get rebuked by the speaker. Rinse and repeat every time
Been through town earlier and overhearing folks, so many are talking about this. Starmer shouldn't go for confrontation but try the human angle... Heard a woman on a radio call-in earlier. She spoke very calmly and quietly as she told how, last Christmas, she was allowed to see her husband just once for 15 minutes in hospital. He died 10 days later. “And they did this? How could they? How could they?” Think Starmer should calmly and quietly ask that question. I’d like to know the answer.
He can demand resignations, but not sure he'll have the numbers to do any damage in a no confidence motion. The Tory backbenches will question who would be forming a Government, and opposition parties can't agree with each other on anything.
What point was that? That if you mentioned something, people might reply about it, at which point you could claim that they're introducing it into the debate. Well done, I guess. https://tenor.com/view/partridge-i-dont-know-shrugs-idk-no-idea-gif-4529582
If I was on the jury I’d acquit on the grounds it’s perfectly reasonable behaviour You may well find others had the same view
So the newer Tories (80 seat majority, thanks to JC) would vote no confidence and put themselves out of a job? Okay.
