It’ll actually be much higher than 25%. Many young people are completely against the ‘vaccine’ and rightly so.

 

I am as pro vaccination as they come but the answer is simply yes.

Whatever someone's reason for not having a vaccine, be it "Tracey from Facebook" or something more nuanced, it is their decision.

It's a frighteningly high number but footballers have never been known for being particularly intelligent have they.

However, if unvaccinated and they then miss games because they have to isolate rather than test, I would have sympathy with any club deeming that worthy of a fine. They have effectively made themselves unavailable for selection.

I fully respect everyone's right to choose, but with choice come consequences. In my view anyway.

Whilst I'm good and ok with the covid one. I've had all 3, I am now unsure of any more. I'm beginning to wonder what the point is tbh. I will need to be convinced to have a 4th. 2 years in, and no further forward. In that I mean the "experts" are clearly pushing for a lockdown, the government are now allowing the scare storiea so that they are not liable to support businesses.

It's just a cluster ****. Nobody knows what to do.

Similar to the cocky ***** who walk around without a mask. Predominantly males in their 20s and 30s and some couples in the same age bracket.

 

To be fair, I can understand professional athletes being concerned about the impact on their bodies having vaccinations with all the uncertainty about them.
Don’t necessarily agree with the concern but can understand it.
Ultimately it should be a free choice of the individual.

 

You have to remember that young footballers have it absolutely drummed in to them from day 1 that you have to be absolutely diligent about what you put into your body. The rule is if you have any doubts at all then you do not eat/drink/take it.

So given the concerns around the heart issues we’ve seen with some athletes, it’s very easy to understand why many of these players are culturally reticent, even if we don’t agree with it. Particularly when you add to that the fact that COVID - and even more this new strain of it - is likely to barely even register with them as an illness.

 

It's a depressing set of numbers. But everything to do with Covid has depressing numbers attached to it.

Anyway, to answer the question, yes they should be allowed to play, but it's a bit of a kick in the teeth of the fans when they're required to jump through hoops to watch them play but the players can't be arsed to get jabbed.

 

The heart issues are more likely to be the long term result of COVID infection than COVID vaccine.

 

There is absolutely no evidence whether this uptick in cases is COVID, the vaccine, or something else entirely.

No. It's far more likely that any long term damage to people will be from the long term effects of the virus, not as a result of the vaccine, any unvaccinated player is putting their colleagues at risk by being a possible vector of transmission. Far too many stupid people out there inflicting themselves upon the rest of us.

 

We live in a free country and folk should be able to choose what they think is best for them.

I’ve had both jabs, and will have my booster tomorrow at the club, as will at least 75% of players and staff. But there’s zero pressure. Because we have choice.

The ‘thick footballer’ comments are pathetic to read, and stereotypical. As for whether it’s fair because fans have to prove they’ve not got covid - any unvaccinated player still has to do a LFT before entering the stadium. So exactly the same rules apply.

Stop looking for reasons to attack fellow human beings.

After 39 years on this planet, I have never been as at odds with other humans as I’ve been this last couple of years. I genuinely scratch my head at allsorts. It seems idiocy is celebrated. ******** are in power. To be nice is frowned upon. I’m genuinely not long for this me. What a world.

 

Sorry if I've missed it...where has that 25% figure come from ?
