Yep all in all decent point... Even tho you are better off winning one then losing one than drawing two... It's wins we need but it's a good point against these..
13 goals in 23 league games. Poya has a hell of lot of work to do. It's ok saying we need to be solid at the back, we also need to be more adventurous up top. I'd rather we sacrificed a little at the back and go all out to win games, it's the only thing that's going to keep us up.
people aren't looking at this game in isolation though. they're looking at it in conjunction with every other game. our entire strategy seems to be based on not conceding a goal. more often than not that doesn't work. it did tonight. beyond that we just don't seem to have any plan. in possession and attacking, we're awful. devoid of any composure, pace or creativity. yes it was West Brom, but we were no different against Peterborough either.
Apart from Fulham and Bournemouth we shouldn't be shitting ourselves against any side in this division and that includes West Brom. Try to win a game ffs, let's make teams worry about us rather than setting up defensively and worrying what they're going to do. Just feels like were accepting a fast exit to L1.
But they still managed to create chances to have won the game easily. We created the square root of **** all - so no, we beat them on the crapness front.
Chuffed with that performance and result. That means we're -5 for the Blackpool and Hull City defeats. No point focusing on negatives now.
It was a very poor game but we got a point more than i thought we would get. We still can't manage 3 passes. and keep giving the ball to the opposition we look very poor in possesion and our attacking threat is still relatively nil...but we got a point........so errrr well done lads.
Surely bringing Kane back from Oxford is a no brainer. Our midfield simply can't compete physically at this level. Gomes was totally anonymous tonight and Benson wasn't much better. Along with Styles that trio have a combined height of about 15'9" and they just get shrugged off the ball so easily.
Wasn't impressed with WBA in all.honesty, and talking to their fans on the way out, neither were they. Said most matches had been like that, boring. Asked me if it had been like that last season, but we seemed to go all out for the wins last season. They said they wouldnt let us have Alex back though.
I thought we had a game plan that we stuck to, the players battled and fought against a team expected to roll us over. I agree with deafening silence that its something to build on, in a lot of ways it's only a good point and performance if we take it into the stoke game and get a win.
