Alex Neil. Biggest complement I can give him is I don't have an opinion on him yet I'd seem him play umpteen times. Wasn't 5hit and never broke any pots. Ideal midfielder really.

Did you watch Benson first half? There’s a chance you might have missed him as he touched the ball twice. I’d take a midfielder knocking the opposition over.

Colace was deservedly POTY for us in the Championship. I think Benson and Gomes (less so Palmer) will struggle to get Player of the Match in the Championship the way we’re going.

In fact, anybody who has ever played on the wing for us. Get them in and scrap this 343 ******.

I think Brittain could do a good job up front.

In our team he would have zero. He’s a finisher and we create zero

Genuinely thought he was overrated. His career stats say it all. The question was would he have improved the side. As poor as we are at the mo. No. Imo.

I’d take Colace all day long in this team. Prepared to make runs forward, rarely misplaced a pass to a Barnsley shirt, and scored more goals than Mowatt (fact check me on that but think it’s 7 vs. 6 in a season). 101 games at Championship level for us, played with Messi, and 200 games at a decent level.

Not sure Benson or Gomes will ever reach those numbers based on current form. Time on their side though.

Ok that's your opinion. His career stats are still poor to say the least. To quote he played with Messi is not a guide to his ability.( you can do better than that) I remember him towards his final spell. He was gash and released.

Didn’t he Captain the U21’s that Messi was in? Not a bad claim but I might be wrong.

You’re right, it’s just my opinion (and yours), but I’m trying to back it up with some stats and facts. What people do after they leave Oakwell doesn’t reflect how good or bad they were when they played here. Likewise how they performed at their worst for us, if you answer the OP.

The one player I wish we had right now, and I thought this last night, Nathan Doyle, bang average player, but in a good way, consistently put in 7/10 performances. Would give our midfield that steel we are lacking.
