STOKE CITY FIXTURE POSTPONED Fixture News Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Boxing Day’s clash with Stoke City at Oakwell has been postponed. Continue reading on the official site...
Plenty hoping for a ban on household mixing or else it's going to be a loooonnnggg dose of the in-laws....
******, always look forward to Boxing Day home games irrespective of how our season is going. Ah well, I know of a couple of clubs with bands booked for that afternoon, that’ll have to do.
What happened to 14 players? Stoke have a 30 man squad this season plus all over registered players not given a squad list so to have less than 14 without covid seems a bit extreme
Probably a good outcome in terms of allowing Poya more time to work with the squad and get to the part of his philosophy where he attempts actual shots on the opponent's goal. I think it ultimately improves our prospect of getting 3 points from the fixture, unless we were counting on them fielding a team of kids due to Covid.
I would think/hope/expect our club to have questioned the merits and details of this game being called off, and if they believe somethings not right, to have raised this with the EFL
I imagine there could be a fair few games off. Suddenly loads of clubs are making the request it seems. To try and look for a positive personally, it probably means I get an extra game back in the West Stand. Assuming lockdowns don’t take that privilege of course.
I was really looking forward to a Boxing Day match again. Refunds for me, family won't be around for the rearranged fixture no doubt.
I was working on teh theory that, on balance, we're more likely to get points through forfeited games than playing theme - even if we forfeit some ourselves
Should forfeit if they can't wesh their hands...dirty gets. Poor poor form. Love football on a Boxing day.
No one is suffering and there is no shame. It's a postponed game of football. One of 46, just this season, not including cup games, and it will be rescheduled.
Was looking forward to going to this, always like a Boxing Day fixture, and chances of me making a rearranged fixture in midweek would be slim. But if there was any doubt over the fixture, then right to call it off. Can't be letting it drag on further towards Christmas to make a decision.
