I liked Hecky and met him loads of times but his time at Oakwell was up and the performances showed that. Anybody at QPR for his last game in charge knew he had to go.
He took his bat an ball home after the 4-0 friendly defeat to Rotherham. Should have gone that summer instead of sulking about not having say over transfers and the club should have brought someone in prepared to get on with it.
True, but the other bloke came in after a relegation always hard hecky knows the players and did well at a similar role with us getting promoted within. Hasnt done anything yet but did well to beat a fulham side with no wins in 5 now. Didnt do so well last 12 months here at leeds or at hibs but started well at bramall lane.
tbf he'd started to turn it round, they won the game before he was sacked remenber. Though looking at shots and shots on target was no better than ours! Better plan though , score first then hang on for the lead!
Tremendous coach. Could and should have been a legend at Oakwell if he'd had any support from the bunch of jokers running the club. Only my opinion, mind.
Well hexky and morais relegated us and we had a good promotion under stendel and reached the championship play offs but as always at Barnsley its 2 steps forward 3 steps back
It would have been nice to see what that squad promoted under Stendel could have achieved with Kieffer Moore alongside Woodrow and Sollbauer from the start of the season.
So was his Grandad who was a Lancaster pilot in WW2 who bailed out over Germany and lived to tell the tale in a fascinating book. He worked with my Dad at British Coal's Area HQ at Grimey and we often saw him watching the Reds, usually accompanied by Paul and his brother. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lancaster-Pilots-Impression-Germany/dp/1900604094
