Today he can leave. Tomorrow I might think he should stay. What can you say? I'm fickle. As for his injury...I don't think he's a guaranteed pick anymore. Good diplomacy from Poya before the WBA game.

I’m sure he’ll leave in January. With relegation pretty much a certainty we will need to cut our cloth and taking whatever fee plus getting (I assume) our top earner off the books will go a long way towards that.

I’ll miss him. When Helik and Collins go I’ll miss them too. League one won’t be as fun next season. It’s a better division than it was last time we were there, and we’ll have a much poorer squad.

I sometimes wonder whether we undervalue the players that have been around for a few years, going for a new flavour of the month instead. Last season there were noises of how we wouldn't miss Mowatt, bypassed midfield etc... He was our most influential player by a distance, scored or assisted 15 goals and the coach was clear he wanted to take him with him when he moved on. I was surprised he didn't win the player of the year award last season. Reminds me of the promotion and Prem seasons when Hendrie and Ward won the award, while the top scorer and best player by a mile only came second on each occaision.

Woodrow will no doubt move on, if not in January then in the summer. And while he's not been in great form this season, he'll be missed. I still think him and Morris as a front two, in front of a midfield that vaguely functioned, would be pretty effective in this league.

He's given us great service in getting us out of League One and played his full part in keeping us there. Can't argue with one hundred and fifty games for us. I always thought him a great signing when he came in and he hasn't disappointed. I think that it is time to move on, or sign another extension and you can't blame him if he wants to move on. WBA would give him a good bump up in earnings, no doubt, along with the possibility of playing in the Premiership, which has to be any player's dream. I am just hoping that the Baggies, having got Mowatt for nothing, will give us a decent cut for his transfer - say £5 million would be good, as it would then give Poya and the board a worthwhile sum to invest for strengthening the squad where Poya thinks it will be needed. With both Frieser and Cauley touted to be leaving, we definitely need another striker, for sure. Herbie Kane back from Oxford, plus an experienced holding midfielder to organise things and a new left back to replace Styles, if he does go to Celtic, as touted. I hope we get close to £5 million for him as well. The joint sum would give us a worthwhile amount to reinvest. I can see some Swedish players coming in, providing the Brexit rules permit. Let's hope Poya can get players he trusts and who have procen themselves and make a difference. Could be an interesting window, for sure.

There's not a single player in our squad that will fetch close to 5m. Might get 2m for Woodrow if we're lucky.

Suprising given less than 8 months ago fans were saying cauley isnt scoring because of vals long ball tactics that dont suite cauley.

He wasn’t scoring as many because of his position in the system, he was a regular starter under Val and was obviously valued by him. His role had changed as it has this season, difference being we’re absolutely bereft of a decent midfield. With Mowatt gone and not replaced by similar, people on here saying Styles was his natural replacement and he wouldn’t be missed are probably amongst those who wrongly accuse CW of being idle and uncaring.

It was obvious we would miss mowatt, people on here kept saying he wasnt fast enough to be a top championship midfielder which was laughable. Styles was unproven in center midfield and benson as burnley fans warned us isnt ready for the championship yet.

Thomas you have named just about everything we won’t get . And even if we did get good money for any of our players they would be replaced by the cheapest option available to the Club. And as for experience we have more chance of the whole board doing one.

How we going to get a experienced midfielder other than a loan? We cant afford one, if wednesday relesed barry bannan tomorrow we wouldnt even be able to afford him and his best days are over.

I do understand this argument but if you are saying that the only other option available to us, in lieu of an even halfway experienced CM, is 3 <22 year olds - 1 of whom (Palmer) has about a season's worth of professional football and is still a complete rookie, and the other 2 have pretty much 0 experience in the professional game and look way off it, then we are very much in the wrong league.
