    2018 - loss of £23.5m
2019 - profit of £12.7m (this includes profit of £38m on player sales)
    2020 - loss £7.4m
2021 - loss £38.4m* (these results are from the holding company)

Bristol City have made significant profits from player sales yet over the four years have lost around £57m.

Wage bill of £27m on turnover of £16m. (168%) of turnover.

Another club totally dependent on the owner to keep ploughing the cash in.

Championship football is a financial basket case.

£38 million player sales ?!? Never knew Messi and Ronaldo laiked for them. It does go to show though again how we seem to get our pants pulled down when selling players.

Rough breakdown - Bobby Reid £10m, Joe Bryan £6m, Aden Flint £7m, Lloyd Kelly £13m plus an add on for Jonathan Kodjia.

I think that’s the point, Steve Lansdown is putting cash in year on year, converting debt to equity. This allows the club to sign and pay players way beyond the finances generated by the club. Football Fair Play is not fair.

Conveniently £1m below the £13m per year over 3 years maximum loss permitted.

    Devils advocate..
Bristol City are one of the very few clubs who, I think have 3 of there board members in the top Hundred richest list in this country. I know the debt is huge by... little ol Barnsley.. standards but they all must share the debt.
The other extreme is us of coarse, who actually hide behind FFP and have done since PC got sick of bailing us out. Now you have Conway riding a white charger championing how unfair it all is.
If some multi millionaires want to spend their own money on their team then... What the hell has it got to do with anyone else. Not having a go at you Arch, I like reading you're financial posts.
You can understand Conway shouting because it makes him look a cheapskate.. others spend and he refuses. But for the average jonny halfway line fan. Some of the dross thats being served up at Oakwell nowdays a little rule breaking would be welcome.

@Muirsheen Durkin I don’t disagree with you mate. The issue I have is you either have FFP or not.

I think the issue is when the billionaires get bored or find another toy, the club is pretty much finished.

    Yes.
A 40 point deduction which still gives them every chance to pass us in the next few weeks.
