I doubt there is anybody or at least many takers, at the minute whether we are in league 1 or the championship we are a sustainable business and keep going, the ground ownership is my biggest worry and may shape our future.

I am not aware of these owners at any other of their clubs stripping all the clubs assets and destroying the club if that does happen i will be at the front of the protest. Up until then as always i will enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is being a BFC fan.

Can't see it myself. Time for Barnsley to be owned by and for the fans. I've got a jar full of £2 coins to chip in....

There is a real issue of sustainability in league one. Last time round the club lost over £3m. Unless these long term contracts have significant relegation clauses the owners are staring down the barrel.

Remember the initial purchase price was £7m. The cash required next season may be around 50% reinvestment with minimal return. Unless significant amounts can be recouped from sales the owners are facing a big dilemma.

I think there is no doubt we are going down, also Woodrow Helik Styles Collins will be sold to cover the loss in to league 1, i am hoping Poya can build us back up by progressing us this season in to a style of play and improving our remaining players.

Ive said before about Val improving our players footballing ability he didnt he put us back a year but that is a different conversation and thread.

You can’t make sense of it because it doesn’t make sense. Unless you understand what the end outcome is. winning is a side product of players getting better. The CEO literally stood up and said winning didn’t matter as we hadn’t had any bids for our players.

I would like to see that comment being made, maybe its been misinterpreted or he mixed up his words but i honestly cannot believe thats what was said or meant.
No CEO would say that unless they are totally inept.
Is there a video or written document please with him saying this or was someone there when he said it. Were you there when it was said?
It would change my mind on the subject if cant be confirmed then it is ******. @Gally or @Lokothetyke usually get good comunication of these events or discussions.

He said it more than once it was said in at least one of the forum meetings and I believe he repeated it during his first round of media interviews. It was something like the playing style was being changed because despite it being the 3rd highest league position finish in the club's history it was deemed a failure by him and the board because the club didn't receive offers for any of its players on the back of it which is actually factually incorrect because they sold Chaplin and of course also pocketed £2 million for the head coach. So the playing style was changed in order to make the player sales more profitable and easier, not to make the team more successful on the field. The problem with the change is that the people who ordered it took no account of whether the players already here and the new ones they were signing were capable of playing successfully in the style they ordered to be adopted no doubt because they know as much about setting up a football team as I do about quantum physics which I can tell you is **** all. Like all the other happy clappers you are refusing to believe the evidence laid before you 2 wins in 24 games is by far the worst in the league and yet three first team coaches have made no changes to an obviously failing playing style and set up that can only be for two reasons either they are stupid or they are doing as instructed by the CEO and board.

Seeing as you are not a happy clapper what inspirational thing are you going to do to work through the current situation?

I would not play 343, Poya seems to be moving to a 4231.
I would however prefer our players to be coached passing football than what Val had us playing. Val cost our young players a season of their footballing development as he didnt play any.

At least youve got the bottle to stick up for your views even if it is nonesense and as for the refusing to see the evidence laid before me crap i clearly see where we are in the league and performances on the pitch are not good enough so please stick your happy clapper comment up you arse.

I know this comment isn't aimed at me, but it really saddens me that the current mood around BFC leads to this kind of exchange. We may be strangers behind keyboards, but we are all Reds.

It's no wonder longstanding posters like @Jay and @JLWBigLil and @Hicksy post less frequently. It is truly toxic.

I am one of the least abusive posters on here, today i am just making a stand against the disgraceful posts that have arisen since the blackburn defeat.

It’s not that it’s a complete failure and I’m sure some of those players will do well in league one but I don’t think we’ll hang on to them all when we drop. In an idea world we keep hold of Helik and Mads at the back and Morris up top but I can see at least one of those going, probably more. Brittain will probably be ok in league 1 but I don’t get the regard loads of fans seem to hold him in. I thought he was average last season and has been poor this season (albeit in very good company!).

I also think we’re useless as a team this season. When we went down last time I always felt like we were in games and were only a bit of luck/avoiding a lapse in concentration/a ref’s decision going for us away from picking up enough points to stay up. This season we look hopeless and I can see it continuing next season.

Massively hope I’m wrong but if I’m not I’ll console myself with having more Saturdays free for golf!

I really have no words then. I’m not knocking anyone who believes differently than I and I’m the first to admit winning games should improve the value of our players but the CEO said, many heard him, many commented on it at the time on here too.

    enjoy your evening
