Dad shot and killed his own 16 yr old daughter thinking she was an intruder. God only knows how distract he must feel! It’s another example of ho stupid it is to let the public loose with guns!, we’ve all seen films where the police etc work through scenarios where ‘bad ‘ and ‘good ‘ figures pop up to see their judgement, but anybody that jumpy who is prepared to shoot without seeing the intended target , knowing he had other family members should never have been allowed to keep a gun at home!
It's things like this that really highlight why gun laws should be brought in. One of the arguments against it is always that bad guys can still get guns but the vast majority of the gun-related deaths aren't from classic 'bad guys'. They're from things like this, suicides, and spur of the moment in a fit of anger killings which would never have happened if they didn't have easy access to a gun.
AmeriKKA is one of the most backward countries in the world, other than about 10 large cities. It's not really a country per se, as state law rules on most things. I went out with an American girl for 12 years, going over to Florida & Upstate New York a bunch of times. Some wonderful scenery, weird wildlife & some interesting subcultures in music. I'd never dream of living there. The food is awful, unless you are in NYC, Boston, or one of the big cities, other than New Orleans. There are no bars as such in those places either. If you went to a bar with mates for a few drinks after you'd drunk two 3.5% Budweiser 330cl bottles they want you to order food or move on. I assume that is because if you get a bit pissed you are going to pull out an assault rifle. Sh!te country, full of racists, but also full of an amazing undercround of musicians, artists, scientists, etc. Mixed bag?
You’ll not change the American mindset…. It’s ingrained that you need a gun to protect yourself against criminals and a corrupt Government….
It's because they want the tips from the food and think of you as taking up a table with the drinks. I'm not saying you should have to, because tipping culture is stupid, but if you tipped $5 dollars or more up front and then the standard $1 per drink, then they probably wouldn't mind you staying.
His own fault though. He bought the gun, took it home and shot someone with it. It just so happens that he thought he was murdering someone else.
It’s a tragedy and I have a bit of sympathy for him though not as much as for the rest of the family or the poor dead lass herself. The problem is the culture. I am employed by an American company and their nanny software on my laptop blocks any attempt to visit a site that sells alcohol eg Brewdog or waitrose Cellar No problem going to a gun store though. Their culture is just weird.
We only tolerate them because they speak English otherwise they'd be considered the same as China, Russia or north Korea
