So I’ve to reply directly to everything you say and can’t make any points that don’t? Ok then.

Funny how you are responding to me and then say they are squeezing every bit of money out of the club. I didn’t say anything like that.

    And - Hysterical drama Queen?

I’m not getting into trading insults. No interest.

But if I’m a hysterical drama queen, it’s a bit strange that there seem to be a lot of people along the same lines of thinking as me. It’s not exactly an individualised flounce. In fact I’d hazard a guess there’s more who are as concerned as I am at the state of the club than there are folk like you, who criticise us for voicing concerns as it’s all going to be ok.

    We will see.

Hope you’re right, and the club is back in rude health in due course.

When they came in, they spent little money. Same now.

But they communicated, they made changes to try and improve the matchday experience.

They said they’d not do anything crazy. Only spend what the club generated and concentrate on young talent. Ok. Recently, they’ve gone on to extreme mode though. Not only not signing experience (despite the fact than when they made a small concession in that regard and signed Sollbauer, it probably kept us up in 19/20), but signing youth team players with no first team experience whatsoever. Who are showing themselves to be the boys they are. Not men, and not their fault.

The actions of this summer went beyond anything they’d done at any point before. It was an exhibition of apathy and negligence. No head coach, assistant, no ceo, no club Secretary. Players not gotten fit before Schopp came in. Players who left inadequately replaced (and this isn’t just hindsight, it was plainly obvious before the season started that we were woefully short in midfield and needed a leader).

They have control of a lot of clubs, a lot more than when they came here, and have in my view lost interest here. Even if I’m wrong, their interest and attention is at the very least massively diluted as they’re running other clubs.

So no, I don’t think they’re running this as they always did. Last time we dropped to league one they funded a shortfall and kept the majority of the squad together.

This time do you think they will? My fear would be that they do little, and leave it to the likes of Khaled and the Cryne’s to balance the books if they possibly can. This will mean selling whatever they can, chopping the wage bill and playing the youth team. It might not be this extreme - but whatever happens I can’t see us going in as strong as we did under Stendel.

Just on the reply comment i only meant that you did a post based directed at one of mine, i could have missed it and thought it would be good if you had clicked the reply / quote button so that i got alerted to your post and could reply.

So I’ve to reply directly to everything you say and can’t make any points that don’t? Ok then. This bit you have put is really strange not quote sure where you are going with this.

Also if the drama queen comment bothered you i apologise.

I still don’t accept that this season represents any significant change in direction by the owners. The exit of the CEO, captain, and manager was beyond their reasonable control.

The appointment of Schopp was no more of a gamble than Stendel, Struber and Ismael before him.

The new players brought in have been disappointing to say the least, but no more so than the players that performed so well last season.

Are you seriously telling me that the signing of Benson or Leya Iseka were inherently more of a risk than Daryl Dike - a 20 year old who had only made his professional debut 6 months earlier?

The owners have told us all along that their business model entails signing cheap young players who have typically shown promise either at a lower level, or in a lesser European league.

The only thing that’s really changed in the level of success out on the pitch.

I don't know what VI was on here or what he's on now so I'm not in a position to answer that question. But I know this much going through coaches like Barnsley FC are doing at the moment leads to the place we find ourselves in now so something has to change.
What I want the board to do is what business people all over the world do and that's invest in their businesses to make them successful that's all, not stupid amounts that can't be funded but sensible amounts, while it's a laudable to want a self sustaining club in reality that will only be achieved through success on the field and at the moment to achieve that success requires some investment. The plan to sign young players and improve them then sell them at a profit is fine but it needs to be done alongside of trying to achieve on field success or what's the point, the plan is being implemented in an extremely zealous way at the moment coach after coach as asked for a little experience to be added to aid the development of the younger players and help them achieve on the field and it's mostly been ignored. We lost a vast amount of experience in the summer both on the field and in the dugout, now the board may not have been able to do anything about the outgoings fair point, but they could however have made much better choices with replacements. Expecting U23 midfielders with a handful of first team games between them to compete in probably the most competitive and physical 2nd tier league in the world without an old head or two alongside to help them out and organise them was madness and as probably set their development back years. We've signed 3 strikers to replace Dike and Chaplin two from Belgium one looks like he's not going to make an impact on the team this season and the other who looks more likely to make more of an impact on the workload of the club's physios and club bank balance than he ever is on the pitch. Then there's Devante Cole who sadly isn't a chip off the old block. We signed a left back on loan from the top side in Germany and then don't play him ever despite left back being a weak spot in the squad. The plan was sold on the pretext that as players were sold and monies were generated then the quality of signings would improve its all too evident its gone in the opposite direction. As for the coaching appointments MS was an unmitigated disaster and PA looks like being much the same having not managed to win 1 game in 6.
You and a few others seem determined to defend the board against any and all criticism and to be honest I can't think for the life of me why. They have been in control for 4 years now and can you honestly say that the club as even stayed at the level it was before they came never mind improved. I've supported Barnsley FC since the mid 70s so for nearly 50 years and I care deeply about it, I don't think the current owners are doing an even adequate job of running the club they've managed to fritter away every piece of good fortune that's landed on their laps, there is no progression on the field, off the field or probably more importantly given the likelyhood of relegation in the club's bank balance. You support the board if you want but don't try to belittle those of us that don't by labelling our concerns as nonsense.

Just interested as to why you think Poya should get more time than Schopp was given?

signing players is a risk. Always will be. We will get some wrong and thats not an issue in my eyes. The issue is we seemed to sign player based on Conways unilateral decisions this time if im understanding correctly. Also Dike was a risk, proved he could handle the Championship and in fact was instrumental in our season. The issue is that we were told categorically that we had a deal done, was affordable and laughed others out of the room when they banded transfer fees out. We were led to believe it would be a formality to sign him in future. But the truth is we didn't have a deal. Were we lied to? We had a season to build on yet we passed up one of our best players. A player that ironically has now signed a long term deal in the championship. If we couldn't afford him then why lie. We know we have to pay out of generated income only. This is why i get embarrassed and am losing interest. Its one example of a chain of issues that are becoming more prevalent as the owners tenure goes on. We know as a club we have limited funds and no money coming in from owners. So why the facade?

My understanding is that the deal with Orlando was agreed, but not personal terms with the player. Or maybe the board decided we couldn’t afford either without Premier League money.

The only time I recall there being any transparency of the finances at Oakwell was Keith Hill moaning about having the smallest budget in the division. I don’t think that was particularly well received by the fans.

We need some continuity, we need a coach to stay with us for more than a season, we need to develop our players, we need a coach who can help these young players improve individually and as a team

I dont know but if Poya is the right person but i do know we have to give someone time.

Schopp lost the players, when they wete criticising him on radio sheffield it was obvious things were bad, he came across poorly on interviews and on the pitch there was no clear method of playing.

Poya has changed the playing style gradually over his six games, you can see that the team are more organised and the effort from the players is back. Without a new centre midfield player coming in and support from the stands any coach will struggle.

This is a good example identifying where our owners have not been straight with us. I at the time though did think that we would only sign him of we got promoted and i thought it was personal terms with Dike that couldnt be agreed due to him wanting a bigger club. I think paying out of our budget for him would have been a good gamble as we would have got a good return but his form did drop at an important stage of the season when we really needed him.

Right you didnt put any solutions forward (by the way like a lot of the other posters on here) but you did say What I want the board to do is what business people all over the world do and that's invest in their businesses to make them successful that's all,
Thats the issue, its not as simple as investing a bit to make us successful, clubs have spent millions above their budget, payed players ludicrous wages, paid big transfer fees gone in to debt, had point reductions leading to relegation or gone out of business.
Investing money we dont have certainly doesnt lead to success - coaching and developing our players does, giving support, patience and time to our coaches and players also helps which is the opposite to what many on here are doing which has a detrimental affect on our players. My viewpoint has nothing to do with defending our owners and i am certainly no happy clapper.

Seen absolutely nothing so far to suggest he deserves any longer. He's even praising players for collecting the ball out of the net after they messed up, absolutely bizzare.

it did a bit but i think as a team we seemed too cautious. The thing with Dike which is interesting is that our fans were more realistic about Dike signing. Most felt it wouldn't happen but we were still told the deal was in place and were assured the fee wasn't an issue and no other links were given. Also it was then us that withdrew from the deal. I felt uncomfortable that the club was driving an agenda that people didn't fully see the same way. Seems the fans view was the right one. So were the club at best disingenuous?

Yesterdays game can be added to the list. I notice there is a growing trend in feeling embarrassed. I honestly dont know what it will take to feel less so in the foreseeable future. The outlook is adding to the apathy and lack of motivation. Only good thing is, i still feel the pain and emotionally still feel embarrassed. At least it shows i care even if its diminishing.

Poya makes Spackman look like a credible manager. That is like me saying S Club 7 were better than Generation X. Where is the truth? Morais at least had McBurnie. We are dog poo, That was embarrassing and Norman would be ashamed.

Ultimately the man making the decisions about the appointments, direction and even player recruitment at times probably didn’t understand the offside rule 3 years ago (does he now i wonder?), football is a business, yes, but like all businesses if the person making the decisions doesn’t understand the market they’re operating in and the nature of how it works then you get what we’ve got here-bizzare behaviour and a lack of direction.
Whatever the makeup of this investment vehicle, we can see it didn’t work in Nice and it’s not working here - whether it’s a genuine pound shop Redbull or something more sinister remains to be seen….

The appointment of schopp had alot more risk than val. Val or struber schopp had only ever managed in austria in front of crowds of 500 where they have to clear cattle off the pitch before the game.. and lets not forget the other clown the appointed in morais.
The biggest mistake was switching bavk to tippy tappy and poyas style is just the same as schopps.
