Sue Smith and Emma Hayes better….and I find Emma Hayes very annoying on a personal level when she’s not talking about that game she’s been asked to talk about.
Middle aged white males commenting on anything a bit different. (Forgive me Helen just seen your post too)
If Karen Carney is there to meet a quota then I'd love to know what quota Sam matterface is on ITV to meet or what quota Shearer meets
I was going to type the same thing about Shearer but Matterface is a good call - I cant think of a single female commentator I wouldnt chose over him
I give you Mark Lawrenson. He filled two quotas. One that football pundits should be the most tedious, pompous ars@holes going and second, well actually if there was one, it was made redundant by complying with the first one.
There’s umpteen male presenters and pundits who in my opinion are ‘dull and bland’. Never any threads about them. Wonder why? For what it’s worth I think Carney has improved over time. There’s plenty better, plenty worse.
To be fair, I have seen some on here about male presenters and pundits. I don't think we should turn another thread into something it doesn't need to be. Matterface is by far the worse imo. It'd be good to get different people more frequent rather than the same tripe every week!
Tbh I can live without any of 'em be it presenters, studio pundits, commentators or match summarisers. I usually just turn on for kick-off to avoid the former and can just about stomach Tyler and Neville for a big game but the first channel to provide live sound from the ground only without commentary will get my subscription straight away.
Donks post of " quota" turned the thread into a sex issue. I was just pointing out that she was unlikely to have got the job based on being female when there are so many dull and bland male presenters.
Never mentioned sexuality. You will find numerous threads on here that mention male commentators and pundits for being bad or bland or over the top.
Whenever i want to watch football highlights shows i sky plus them then i can ffwd through the drivel' do we need these pundits at all? Much preferred motd when it was just Jimmy hill' nowadays theres more punditry than soccer action' its all very tedious..
Watched a game on BT recently and they had TWO!!! "expert summarisers", Martin (I'm famous for kicking people and gurning) Keown and Steve McMannaman, who sounds like he's going to burst into tears at any time. If that wasn't bad enough they kept bringing on an ex ref to jabber on about VAR decisions!!!! Why FFS? 111
