At least it was only £6500 as opposed to £750000

Yes I’m usually found to be casting a comment such as “Christine will be happy” when yet again my number isn’t pulled in the centenary draw!

27 long years but I’m not bitter :)

Didn't we run competitions to win cars on a regular basis around the time we went into admin?

I vaguely remember a burgundy Jag in the corner between the Ponte and West Stand, being raffled off.

Sorry to upset those above. 4 of us are in a syndicate and have won it twice.
My bro in law has shared once with his mate and also won it on his own.

There was an incident in the first couple of years. where they did the draw on the pitch. 3 boxes (0-15, 0-9,0-9,) I noticed only the first 2 boxes were opened (Gerry wasn't in attendance.) The number that won it was announced as 1500.
I kid you not. a MR SMITH of LONDON. I was fuming and told one of the syndicate why. He approached the club. (the culprit didn't open the 3rd box because the only number that could win was 1500.) And told em in not so many words what I'd said re the odds. Having been cut from 1500/1 to 150/1.
On the Wednesday evening after the saturday draw. My cousin who spoke to the club recieved a phone call and was told a meeting had taken place acknowledging the supposed c0ck up. Blaming Gerry's stand in.
Because we raised a stink. 2 x £1000 draws were made the following week.
I also said the number 15 should be removed to stop it happening again and give the owner MR SMITH the opportunity to have 0 as their number giving the same odds. Thankfully they use a random number unit now.

To be fair, I'm in the Centenary and many others at the club. Don't see the issue. Everyone pays in.

    I've never won it.

The small centenary profit the club makes is used for the academy I believe

Just to add, I wasn’t having a pop at club or individuals with this post. I get all sorts of historical BFC stuff on my FB page and sometimes post them on here as below: upload_2022-1-7_9-40-35.jpeg

Re my comment above YT. It was scandalous. I’ve toned it down a bit. As it was over 30 years ago. The person responsible was removed. Else I would not still be paying. When we meet I’ll give you the full story.
I too do not have an issue, ( But I certainly did then, I was the one who picked up on what happened) as it stands now and their are several of us that joined on launch and are still members.
