As the owners have destroyed our club and the majority of supporters are stopping going and not lining the owners pockets. If Conway and co dont go or sell or shut our club, who dow we support next, i'd like carry on watching football and would like to go where most of our fans go?

    Athersley Rec?
    Barnsley ladies?
    Leeds?
    Sheffield Wednesday?
    Rotherham?
We could organise a few coaches and go watch Man city?

Sky, BT, etc. Because I think actually going to football has become a pain in the ass.

The owners haven't destroyed the club, yet. There's still time for them to do the right thing, sell for a reasonable price and do one. Alternatively, they could give their collective heads a shake, apologise and start fixing the cluster fu ck they've created.

Do you really think business people would just close the doors without selling us? Your hyperbole of annoy our owners and the club will be locked up for good is ridiculous and extremely unhelpful

    It's fairly simple.
If people really want rid of the current owners then deny them income. Don't moan about 'I'll always back the players". If you are concerned about the long term good of the club and your vision of that doesn't include PMG then be prepared to accept some short term pain for long term gain. Go watch Penistone Church or whatever.
If PMG drive the club into oblivion there will as sure as eggs are eggs be a phoenix club that succeeds them. It's happened at every other club that has gone into liquidation and would happen at Barnsley.
So, no. No need to go watch Man City.

Farnham Town. At least they win games and score goals occasionally and I could easily get to home and away games

Who does a protest help? If revenue drops then innocent club staff will lose their jobs and our better players will be sold. Then if the time comes where the 80% have had enough then what? We could be in League 2 or worse, many behind the scenes will already be unemployed, but the 80% can bugger off with their cash unaffected never to be seen again.

I am contemplating a season ticket at Penistone Church. They also offer free ones to NHS workers so could treat the little lady in my life to a few days out.

But which league would we be In? Where are Bury, Workington, Bradford Park Avenue? Would people watch AFC Barnsley in the Northern Premier League? I think liquidation could signal the end of us in terms of a community focal point. Glossop North End, Darwin, Blackburn Olympic were all in the equivalent of the Championship so there aren't always phoenix clubs that reach the same heights

    Why does that matter?
I supposed everybody on here was a Barnsley fan regardless of our status. If we're not then Man City really is the club to follow.

The board own the players contracts and the council own the ground, who would come in to buy the players contracts only with no ground in the deal? The players are not very good which doesn't help. The owners could sell off the players to recoup some of their money back and walk away.
We could be left with a set of players we can't sell and who are on small wages. We could support them as the new BFC and stay at Oakwell if James Cryne and the council cover their wages.
It's a better option than supporting the club now or watching Rotherham.

In the past when I've grown tired of dragging my backside to Oakwell I've found other pastimes to enjoy. Motorbike racing starts March and ends October, we have a caravan that sometimes takes second fiddle to the fixture list and then there's the ice hockey in winter. I wouldn't countenance transferring my footballing allegiance elsewhere.

    Oakwell.

I get you're not happy with results, transfers, coaching, media policy etc. To be honest nor am I. But the club is really not destroyed. What possible benefit do the board (I'm guessing that's who you mean by 'Conway and co') derive from shutting the club (as I think you're implying)?

Results, performances and the overall mood are not good and we're staring relegation in the face. That's really not the same as a club being destroyed. We've been there before and got over it.

They don't have to be mutually exclusive. I go to the Memorial Ground fairly regularly.

True. Just feel like the joy has been sucked out of visiting Oakwell and I’m just not enjoying going. Still things can change between now and next season.
