Perhaps an overreaction but I didn't think we deserved to win the game. For Barrow to have 10 men for the most part, score 4 away from home and not win, well they must feel so hard done by. A win yes but my goodness it was hard work.
A team that has won 2 league games all season and are about to be overhauled by a team it had a 21pt head start on, who've just scrapped through after extra time 5-4 at home against a team two divisions below them, after being 2-0 up against 10 men for 60ish minutes of normal time plus 30 minutes of extra time may not have been "losers" today, but can hardly call themselves "winners' and neither should any of their fans. It was a hollow victory and any player feeling anything more than utter relief is kidding themselves.
We played poorly, our confidence is obviously shot at the moment, Barrow came and gave it a damn good go and we were lucky to scrape through. The game was entertaining for all that with some great goals. I don’t know why people are in this cycle of depression though. We’re having a bad season, we’ll have good ones and bad ones in future. The club has definitely been in worse positions (2002!). Barnsley won, we’re in the hat, isn’t this where we’re meant to find a bit of positive in an otherwise poor season?
If the vouchers we are getting sent don't include a money off voucher for the brand new pathetic losers BFC t shirt coming soon to the club shop I will be annoyed.
Conman is going to nick your idea. This season it was a free NHS t shirt with the 'seasonal membership' and next season it's going to be a pathetic losers t shirt. Currently they are spoilt for choice in our media department on who to ask to model it for the official site.
Idiotic post of the year, wanting your team to lose. Barrow were not hard done by, had we taken our chances we could’ve won with 2 or 3 goals. Barrow played with great spirit and belief, but only after they scored their first goal.
Quite frankly I don’t understand the wish we’d lost attitude. I seen that many games where we’ve completely outplayed the opposition. But I doubt many opposition fans say. “Ooh I wish we’d lost Barnsley deserved to win". If I hadn’t wanted us to win I’d have stayed home. what I will say. Is 2 players should never wear the red shirt ever again. And that’s not just based on today’s game.
It's aimed at the owner's and the position they've put us in. If we were doing ok in the League then fair enough people may see today as a one off and one of those cup games. However, it was a continuation of the ***** that's been served up so far this season. We've won 2 ******* League games, yes 2 and struggled to beat a L2 side with 10 men and who hadn't scored in their previous 5 away games. But you're right, everything's fantastic at Grove Street!
WTF? Of course we won the game. We were dogshit yeah, but we did win the game. With your trait of thought, we won the game by half time because the 2nd half didn't exist.
With respect, I still think this seems a little out of proportion. What position is it the owners have put us in? Struggling at the foot of the second division. Barnsley have been there a few times, and lower, over the decades with various owners. I read this board and it seems people are staggered this could happen to us? We’ll go down and eventually come back up, maybe straight away or maybe after 10 years and we’ll go via League 2 first, I hope not but it’s happened before. Whatever happens we’ll still be at Oakwell every other Saturday. That’s football when you’re a relatively small club with limited means, unless we’re demanding the owners put their personal billions in?
sorry don’t get that sentiment.Never ever want us to lose, love the black humour banter during games but ultimately want us to win. The blame lays fairly and squarely with the sg1tshow at the top, who since the end of last season have got virtually every call and decision wrong, with their bloody ‘method’ or spreadsheet ( whatever) that has assembled the most unbalanced skewed inexperienced squad that I can remember.
my only regret was not buying north stand tickets when i thought they were available to us would have made a better day of it i think
Firstly, allegedly the owner's are worth very little so won't be putting any money in. The people behind Chien Lee and Conway, who knows. I suspect they've not got the returns they were looking for and may look to sell up soon. With nothing on the balance sheet and a £6m deficit when we start in L1 then who knows what will happen, but I think it's a rocky road ahead. Even if Chien Lee and Conway were worth a lot, I wouldn't want them to throw huge sums at it. Issues for me with the current lot: - Ripping up the blueprint from last season because we didn't sell any players last summer. Basically said the way we set up last season had a negative impact on player values. - Closing the west stand. - The £750k. - Conway's involvement in last summer's shocking recruitment. - The season ticket and voucher fiasco which Conway thought they could sweep under the carpet. - Poor communication. I guess the bottom line is that's they don't give a **** about us so long as they're getting a return on their investment. Everything on the pitch comes second so long as they make money on players sales. Just all seems so wrong to me and not the way I want my club to be run.
Did you go ?. If so mental post of the year. Why would anyone actually go to a game and want to see their team lose. I get the point of us getting so bad due to the stubbornness of the board not changing policy. And hoping they'll change. But hoping we lose is not the way.
