I’ll be gutted if/when we lose Brittain. He definitely has the quality for this division and no way we’d be signing a right sided full back/wing back to slot straight in like he did.
Likewise, just saying that if he is go to we need top money for him not the usual 80 quid and a bag of pork pies
Take Brittain out of this team and it’ll be even worse. He might not have been as good as he was last season, but for me he is still one of our best players and at least he has the ballacks to run with the ball and looks to create something.
I think that’s a bit much. Granted, he’s not at the level he was last season but he’s still better than league 1 in my opinion.
I’d keep him, time is on our side in terms of contract. Invest in developing his end result and he becomes one of the most sought after defenders in the EFL. If he doesn’t develop any better you’ll still get decent money in a year
It's an interesting one this. I imagine that we'll have to sell this January to either balance the books or to bring players in. To me, it seems like one of the following will leave: Woodrow Helik Brittain Styles Collins Collins leaving would be a disaster. As would Styles as we've no other left footer in the squad capable of holding down a first team place. That then leaves the other 3. With what we have in the squad, Brittain is probably the one with the most capable deputy in Jordan Williams. Still wouldn't want him to go though. Edit: Forgot about Morris. Don't sell him either.
What difference would it make if we get 3 million it would only disappear into the running of the club
Do you think based on his performance this season, he would currently get in any other Championship starting xi?
There’s a few yeah, although most of the bottom sides as it stands. If, whoever gets him, can get him firing like last season he’d probably get into most I’d say.
Thats a very real danger. But if we don’t generate cash from player sales, we’ll go bust pretty sharpish given the owners have said they won’t put money in to offset operational losses they’ve incurred. If they did use BFC to pay more of their debts, I’d hope that crystallised opinion that some form of orchestrated action from fans may be the best way forward.
