Like how he had the nerve to basically say that if we were sitting 5th in the league this season then the fans wouldn’t be moaning about the missing money and everything would be fine. The man’s deluded.
I might be wrong as I haven't watched it back, but he was asking that question wasn't he rather than stating it as a fact? I answered him by saying we'd be upset about the £750k and potentially ground sharing regardless of league position or even what division we're in
To be fair, I think Dane Murphy had a much easier time last season, batting off such questions as ‘over his head’ when questioned by the media on such matters last season. Of course, when you are 5th in the league, there is a vague sense of competence in how the club is being run, especially if you’re on a lower budget. There was nothing competent about the running of the club in the summer though.
Makes more sense. So the court case is litterally to decide whether the payments are and can continue to come from the club. Instead of BFC investments.... So 2.75 million we can expect them to strip out of BFC to pay for their purchase. If they won like. Brilliant Good look Khalid in getting any resources for anything else
Very worrying enjoy rest of the championship season could be a while before were back under conman and the puppets.
I'd be surprised if he hadn't tbh. I was confused whether an email or a handwritten letter was the best way of communicating with our CEO!
He did offer it as a question, but not in a convincing way. His tone and body language seemed that he was implying it was a non issue if we'd been doing well. Your reply was spot on to suggest it was an issue regardless. I can't recall his exact reply to that, but I wasn't left with the feeling he was concerned with the points put forward as to why very long standing fans are openly staying away.
Seems two hand written letters are the only way to get through! Maybe in the blood of a virgin, written with a partridge quill on pig skin parchment.
To be fair you answered him back well and left him in no doubt that fans would be pissed off no matter what.
One thing that also stood out were his comments on the "salary cap". I had to think a little about what he said and what he was saying it to, so my assumption was that he was referring to the self imposed maximum amount we could pay a player in wages. Now I'm not aware we've increased the salaries of any of our existing senior players, so again, assuming and deducing, the only way you'd increase your salary cap voluntarily, is if one of your new signings had negotiated a level higher than your existing one and you proceeded to accept that level of salary. If that's the case, it would suggest that our highest earner is now either Leya Iseka, Cole, Benson or Oulare. I'd be interested to see others take on that particular section.
I think he nodded his head and acknowledged my reply as if to say 'Fair answer'. But others might interpret that differently. I do wonder if tone can sometimes come across differently due to his nationality and English not being his first language. I shook my head earlier at the online comments criticising him for saying 'Movatt' rather than 'Mowatt', considering this is someone who speaks five languages.
I tend to find it's strong accents, slang and colloquialisms which are the things that often don't translate well. He certainly speaks english very very well and I didn't get the impression he struggled with understanding anything. Of course he may well have done and that could account for some of his non answers, but I don't get the impression that's the case. It's a shame some people have to focus on trivia, pronunciation or slips of the tongue (unless freudian).
I agree, definitely need to cut him some slack for English not being his first language. I'd love to be able to speak 5 languages ( I suppose I could if I was prepared to spend enough time on it!)
Or, the court case could be to get the payments that they feel are due, regardless of where the money comes from.
i seem to recall one of our legal posters identified there were two claims which were later merged. I’d estimate one is the non payment and the other where the payment originated.
I can't see how anyone can still be happy with how the club is been run after listening to that. Thoroughly depressing. The sooner this CEO and owners are gone the better.
