This Conway Out Group is a Hoax

    I believe the Conway’s Out Facebook group is nothing more than a hoax. At least the idea that they have some super secret alternative backer to run the football club.

    I think they are taking people for a ride and playing on the issues at the football club and turning fans on one another. I’m not sure what their game is exactly probably just about stirring up issues for the owners in some expectation they will just up and leave. I wouldn’t if I’d invested 8m quid.

    The moment tonight I asked 3 very basic questions that I would expect anyone who’s requesting the removal of the owners of a football club and replacing them should be able to answer, I was abused, chucked off and blocked. I am not the only one.

    A) Who are their backers (turns out non of them actually know)
    B) Are they credible
    C) What’s their plan (and how is it different)

    They’ve now deleted everything. Luckily I took a screen shot:

    A fairly obvious set of questions to ask in the circumstances.
    One I’d expect a serious group to be able to answer. In stead one their admin’s just chucked some abuse at me with regards the Q&A. (See

    Someone else had pointed out some similar points. Creating a Facebook group as a way of taking over a football club is a bit of a strange way of doing things.

    They then deleted both threads supporting comments and have started chucking people out of the group:

    Anyway, Dont get let them take the piss out of you and take everything they say with a big pinch of salt. It’s not how serious business people act and they don’t associate themselves with the actions we’ve seen with some of the admins on that page.

    It also occurred to me @Dyson is probably behind it all as he needs some material for a new film called Blind Believers

    As a moderator of the group do you agree with not having an open discussion about being provided more info than is currently available? Did you think the discussion that was deleted was not constructive?

    I was asking the same questions mate. Believe that it was on the thread I started that you commented. Now been kicked off and blocked.

    shocking way to get the fans on board. How can fans back someone they know nothing about and who refuse to put anyone forward for questioning etc.

    Really believe that it’s now run by school kids who are having a laugh. Lost all support.

    I think it's entirely possible that there may be interested parties in buying the club. I also think that the only way we will get rid of these owners is to come together like Blackpool fans did, unless the owners themselves decide to cut their losses which I actually can't see happening because having an English club that made the play offs for the Prem is a feather in their cap for getting others to spend their money on any other investment vehicles they have.

    I asked 2 simple questions. Who they are and how can they expect fans to back plans when they are refusing to come forward. The main bloke who runs it doesn’t have a clue, leading me to think it’s all fake.

    Bit of a sweeping statement saying something is a hoax without knowing for.certain all the facts.

    All i am aware of is there are people prepared to step in but wish to keep their identity anonymous for the time being.

    From what I gather, they are saying you are either with us or against us, but if you're with us don't ask any questions that may over-complicate the simple premise of Conway Out(!), as we've all got jobs and we only have so much information, so if you do question us, you'll simply be booted out the door? Maybe with the caveat that they have an investor, so just trust them. Pay no mind Gally, you're better off out of it, hardly uniting the fans in their cause are they.

    They have provided nothing to show it isn’t. Refusing to name anyone, blocking people for having a difference of opinion or wanting more information before they start to back something. But remember, they are handing out posters so it must be credible, right?

    No you’re right. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for a group to lobby fans to remove owners without being able to themselves tell you who the mystery backers are, what their credibility is or what their plan is. It seems fine that. And then the moment someone asks for some clarification they get banned. All of them. And the comments removed. That definitely seems like a perfectly straight up way to behave. And its definitely how I’d go about buying a football club. I definitely wouldn’t ask the owners first if they’d listen to offers and for how much.

    By the way, did you know they removed the word gullible from the dictionary.

    How can anyone say they are with them if they don’t say what the alternative is? I’m not with anyone who’s going to risk the future of the football club and without that level of clarity that’s exactly what you could be signing up for. Anyone take that on face value is bonkers. And by the way, have a look at my post I said there are some things I’m not a fan of so I didn’t even say I was against them.
