I think at the moment you would be struggling to put a value of any sort on the club. we are bottom of the league ,if that continues to be the case the club will lose 6 million in TV money there is no money on the balance sheet ,indeed we could well be deep in the red and any assets that could be sold and that's if anyone wants to actually buy those assets that money would need to be used to address that and fund the ongoing running costs of the club You would be basically paying for the name Barnsley FC
^^^^^^^^ beat me to it. If this group were serious and legitimate that's the avenue they should go down. Absolutely no need for the protest. I reckon the board are fully aware of the fans frustrations.
I'd take that comment by our CEO with a large pinch of salt seeing as he didn't know the owners opinions on anything else.
I honestly don't think they are from the way the CEO presented. Stendel made it seem easy to get straight out of league 1and I think they think that we'll "piss the league" and all will be forgotten, this is just a little hiccup.
They are aware Helen. The answers may not be palatable. Why don't this group put up. And approach the board instead of waiting to be invited. It happens in business circles all the time.
Not the way I would expect any serious investor to go about things so I’ve assumed it’s a hoax group though might add value for people needing to vent.
I think the buy out group is a red herring tbh. I think some people are saying enough is enough re. our owners and campaigning for that .
More chance of victor banging in 20 a season than this takeover happening. These admins ‘connected’ to the new buyer will probably be the same people selling used dog chews on market place. Can’t believe people are actually giving it the time of day.
There is no buy out group, never has been. It's just a group of shysters preying on the desperate and vulnerable. Happens all the time... Trump and Brexit are recent examples. I've seen enough of the Conway out group to confidently claim it's boll ocks.
Well that escalated quickly! It’s a shame things are panning out this way so soon. Feels reminiscent of the recent West Ham supporters’ group thing. Avoidable but predictable.
I'm going to adopt their approach to all my dealings. Next time I want to buy a car I'll start a Facebook group calling the salesman a c&£@ and harassing him a few weeks in advance. That way when I approach him to buy it he's definitely going to happily sell to me at a discount... I don't get the logic.
Just left the group. Seems that a couple of the admins are power hungry bellends to be honest. Banning people for asking valid questions is totally ridiculous. I'm sure more will follow suit. Good idea poorly executed by mostly unprofessional people.
Tbf what they’re doing isn’t new. They’re just as frustrated as everyone else. They obviously think militant action is the only route forward, and I imagine they’re of the view ‘you’re either with us or you’re not’. Typically though, that approach tends to only appeal to a radical minority. Ultimately time will tell how much credibility they have. My worry would be supporting any ownership group, who reacts how they appear to have done to debate. Feels exclusive and slightly totalitarian to me.
Sorry Helen but I think this is fairly misguided. Going round in circles is something I had to do on there by repeating over and over again that the Q&A wouldn’t be cherry picked questions, wouldn’t be an unedited video, and wouldn’t be about FanZones and Car Parks. I spent about four days answering the same questions or pointing out the same inaccuracies - often to the same people. The discussion yesterday, which involved three different posts by three different members (none of which were myself or Gally), started and ended within less than two hours. How many circles can you go around in two hours? All people asked was and wanted to know, was can you give us more info on who these people are and what their plan is. If you’re asking supporters to blindly support your campaign, and you can’t answer the questions being asked, it isn’t going round in circles it’s just a lack of information.
No idea who runs it, just think it is ridiculous banning people for asking the same questions- if you haven't got time to reply to them, don't reply. It isn't expected than an admin responds to every group post Amateurish.
I suspect the mystery backers are the valet guy at Hayseldens and an HR manager from Bapps for Bolts.
You would assume this is Neil from Tykes TV considering he’s one of the founding members of the group. Impossible to know as it’s a fake Facebook account. But how do you go from this last week, to banning and kicking people out last night for valid, friendly, but probing questions? One giant leap from this to then accusing people of being arse lickers and trouble makers and shutting down any kind of discourse.
