sorry but pay Poya off his whole demeanour reflected in the team, we need Colin in to get some blummin fight in this lot
We're bad enough without having to play 12 men. Shirt grabbing at every opportunity, right under the ref's nose. He doesn't want to know. Pedersen goes knee first into Styles's kidney. It could have hospitalised him, still might, and the ref... doesn't even produce a yellow. Even the Bein commentator was asking why holding wasn't getting booked.
Didn't have the luck today. A fierce shot from Styles early on, parried by the goalkeeper. Shortly after, Victor drove forward in the box and unleashed a powerful shot which the keeper parried. Then they break down their left side, and the winger outpaces Jordan Williams and shoots past Collins. This was against the run of play. Straight after half time, a corner isn't cleared, and falls nicely of course to a man in blue. Helik then hits the post with an overhead kick, before Victor shoots well on his left foot to score. Deserved at least a point, but Birmingham just too physical for us, with both Palmer and Iseka in particular struggling to make an impression. A shout out for Victor - his best game for us.
Why what do you want him to say to his area 'o yea green grass that sparkles like jade jem in a hill full of mudiness. Shine bright and blaze like the baize on ye ancient billiard table. Thou art as smooth as a babies bottom, and certainly not as smelly... Thou white lines of 6 yards run straight and true like my goal kicks into ye touchlines. But thou dost run well to mark mine area, that one from which I must not stray...' I think that should commend it enough. Don't you?
I don't think that's a lack of luck. It's a lack of defence. If you constantly defend like we do then it's not unlucky when you concede two goals a game, it's ability
Their second was fortunate for them. The ball could have dropped to one of our many defenders but drops nicely for Hogan I think it was. When you're at the bottom, that seems to be the pattern.
yeah but, is that what happens when you’re at the bottom, or, are you at the bottom because you keep allowing things like that to happen.
In my opinion it's a pattern because we aren't very good positionally which is why we have the numbers but they're never in the right place.
We weren't hopeless today - on another day we might have got something. Williams was pathetic for their first goal - you could see what was going to happen 5 seconds before it did, and Williams might just as well not have been there. Second goal - someone should have cleared it. Gomes was pretty good and Vic looked worth his place today. We are poor when teams counter attack.
Williams just seems hell bent on avoiding any physical contact to me, mindst why would anybody back off somebody with that hairstyle !
Don't know what it felt like on here but it seemed like we were lucky not to come third. Out-competed, out-fought and out-thought all over the pitch. Yes, we got a goal and did a bit better in 'garbage time' but as usual we have no passion, no aggression, no real structure, no consistent intent to our play and make sloppy defensive errors when it matters in the heart of a game. Asbaghi is about as inspiring as a dead slug. Palmer, Iseka and Williams should never be let anywhere near a Championship football pitch ever again. It says a lot when 'honest but extremely limited trier' Vic is by far the Reds MotM. The stat that summed it up for me at half-time was:- Barnsley, percentage of tackles won, 0%. And even then the difference on the scoresheet was only 1, that 1 tellingly from a January transfer window signing (if only!) which got the dire previously '1 win in 10 team' a win against the even more dire 'don't know where it's next win is coming from' Reds.
