My first reaction was we might have a chance if Asbaghi isn't involved. But then I thought of our first team down to its bare bones against Forest (who looked pretty decent v Derby) and it doesn't really matter. Just get the season over with.
So the original match Forest can get called off with a far bigger squad and one that was capable of putting out a squad a few days after in the cup. But we barely have enough players to fill a first 11 and are told get it played.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could get new players in? Some sort of transfer window mid season. Oh wait….
Not to worry, just put a cardboard cut out of him on the touchline. It’d be about as animated as he has been since he’s been here.
I’m pretty sure the U18s would be much worse, but I get your point. I reckon quite a few of these players expected a big move after last season, and don’t really want to be here any more.
So, our left back in a back 4 is out. Our LWB if we play wing backs might be out. And if Vita is out, our only other option was sold to Cheltenham.
Sibbick and Hondermark still won't get a game. Let's hope Poya is OK and it is simply a case of homesickness.
Wouldn't surprise me if Sibbick is a player the club are not counting within the 13 available players, with the EFL disagreeing, given he is clearly a first team player. If we're keeping the same formation as Saturday, and no players coming back in with Kitching and Styles missing, it might have to be; Collins Hondermarck Helik Andersen Williams Gomes Palmer Cole Adeboyejo Morris Iseka Basically, 4-2-4. Some may argue 4-1-4. Forest might need to nip to Trent Bridge and borrow the scoreboard.
Illness and injuries are usually more prolonged in a losing side, players aren't going to rush back to get booed.
The cynic in me thinks this as well. I've no doubt we've got some players who are or have been injured or ill. I'm sceptical that we've got as many players as claimed with prolonged problems preventing them from playing now. If they're anxious about losing or being booed, they need to grow the fk up and earn their wages. This season isn't going to go away, they have to get out there and just do their best for the sake of their careers and for the supporters paying their wages.
