... in the crowd at the Blackburn vs. Middlesbrough game.

I know people have there different opinions on why this is happening so often, and I don't want to get into that argument, but surely people must see that something is not right.

It seems to be a weekly occurrence this past year,

I thought the same when one of the games at the weekend was delayed. Was it QPR?

I watch at least a game per day these days, with the coverage over here, and sometimes more on a weekend.

It used to be extremely rare and now it is not. I'm not getting into the reasons, as it will only get abusive on here. I just wanted to highlight the issue,

Is that the case though that medical emergencies used to be extremely rare and now they aren't? Or is it that stopping games for them used to be and now they aren't?

I personally think it's media coverage that's increased

More stress. More excess. More everything. Burning the candle at both ends. We want fast food, we want to be fit and healthy. We want a beer, we want the gym. More money, less money, the pandemic.

Our great government in their infinite wisdom have allowed 10s of millions of people catch a potentially deadly virus - in studies half the people hospitalised by covid have come out with heart damage. So yeah somethings not right that’s for sure.

Yep, much more likely to be a nation of weakened hearts from covid, rather than the thing the OP may or may not be insinuating.

Then there's the people that were asymptomatic but will have had internal damage without knowing.

Just to add to my earlier point. Faster living and less work life balance.

That’s been a factor since the industrial revolution tbh .
Not many people in hard labour jobs such as mining got to retirement age, just a few years ago more widows claimed the miners pension than miners themselves .
Which just to add was drastically reduced for widows and the families .

Much more likely to be simply that we continued playing and pretended it wasn't happening in the past but changed rules in football so that games are stopped

May be totally unrelated but could an epileptic fit be brought on by the electronic advertising hoardings that many grounds have nowadays?

Could it just be that it's more noticeable now because games get stopped and there are more televised games. I remember when I was a kid a poor bloke collapsed and died in either the brewery stand or that corner of the ponte and the game just carried on even when they were carrying the poor bloke out on a stretcher round the side of the pitch.

If it was for any of the reasons above. It would be mentioned not swept under the carpet by sky news and politicians.

It's very odd. Needs looking into but nobody can't make any strong accusations to what it is. Just wish the people full recoveries and let someone who's qualified to address these issues
